i am looking for the best way and cheapest way to change diff ratios as i am looking for 5.8 and 6.1 and 5.2 diff gears.So i am thinking it would be best to put a ford 9 inch in her but will it fit.

You think a Ford 9" is going to bolt straight in.....

Am i reading this right? You want to go from 4.11 diff gears to 5.8 diff gears? What the hell are you trying to do?

Going from an IRS rear end to a 4 link rear end is not gonna be cheap.

Im rather Puzzled as to why you would want a 6:1 diff ratio in anything.

I still want to know the answer to my question as why he wants such crazy diff gear ratios. The top speed of the car would be like 170km/h....

Guys you can get a ford 9 inch irs diff. And i will need 5.8 and 6.1 gears becouse i am runnig a bert gear box so i will be runnig in top gear not 2nd or 3rd it is alot cheaper in speedway to go bert gear box then buy a really good light fly wheel and clutch and then keep replaceing gear boxs as you blow them

one of the nissan vans runs an r200 with a high ratio (serena? espace?), there was a thread recently. It was about 4.9 I think.

Or maybe a custom pinion gear with the right ratio?

r200 is a very strong diff, and if you did actually have trouble with it (unlikely on dirt) there is always r220 out of 300zx that would fit.

Of course you can put a 9" in it, anything can be done with enough time and money, and sometimes it's worth it for reliability in a specific purpose.....not sure if there would be many IRS speedway cars out there?

How much power? Have you considered a hq 3 speed box? top gear is 1:1, they are cheap, lots of guys at home put them on the back of 350chevs in saloons in nz.

We ran a 6.5 9inch then went to a 7!!! it was like a worm gear!

Plus you can get the 9 inch head with an alloy nose and carrier to save a bit of weight.
