Does anyone know what the OEM Super DOT 4 "Special" fluid for R35 is? I need to carry fluid to the track, so thought i would pick up a bottle. The dealership want about $180 for a litre. Now i know i can just flush the whole system out with Motul 600 or something, but for the moment i just want to bleed the calipers after a track day.

Anyone know?

I tried to Pm you but for some reason it won't let me, it's not just dot 4, it has a lower viscosity (spell) for the VDC system, if you replace it you "might" have an issue with the VDC. Maybe someone who has actually used a race style dot 4 could give you an idea it would cause an issue.

We've had one guy come in at work who bleed his system with non gen fluid and was having vdc issues. If your getting pre/post track checks from your nhpc they'll bleed them then, otherwise I havent heard/seen any non gen fluids around yet.

funny you should mention the VDC light though

bleed brakes last weekend with AP600.

the VDC light popped on for me momentarily at one stage of turning on and off but have driven all week without any issues and no more warnings

any good qual dot 4 will mix with it fine. any of the 600degree dot 4s will be good. RBF600, AP600 etc. all fine.

actually....I've tried all the top line brake fluids and got best results from the motul rbf600. the best thing about it is that it is about $30 a bottle from motor bike shops.

I have used ap 600, caltex (dark horse!), motul rbf600, brembo whateveritwas, agip. motul 600 performed best.
