we never claimed the GT-R was the "best thing ever made" read though it carefully...

Maybe you didnt,

But you did basicly say that he should have bought a GTR rather than waste time money and effort on a"lowly" GT-T

You say its not all about speed yet you bought a GTR??

dude. we didnt say aree u made the worse choice of spending that much money on a gtt blah blah.

we only said why didnt u buy a gtr. we didnt say OH A GTT UR CARS SHIT GTRS ARE THE BEST. no we didnt

we only said why he did not just buy a gtr

everyone is taking this way out of perportion. we never said his car is crap and that gtrs are the best.

Umm....i think ill take the 2.8L stroker guys haha.... :S

As for the GT-R thing over GT-T, later when i get more cash i'll just go and buy myself a 34 GT-R and keep it in the garage for those boys who think i should get one lol. I'll buy it and use it as a daily over my highly modded GT-T. Yes your right, its not about whos faster...i will have near all of my car's parts removed and swapped to make my car better than a GT-R (performance wise, not NAME wise).

Why not get a GT-R you say? Why throw out a perfectly good GT-R bucket seat to replace it only with a Bride/Recaro/Sparco when i could throw out a GT-T seat and replace that instead? :(

Why throw out a RB26DETT, or for that matter rebuild it when i can rebuild a RB25DET for the same performance i need and have the SAME relliability?

Why replace the 6 piston brembo's (that are now 10 years old for that matter) for brand new 6 piston Project MU's with 380mm rotors? When i could replace my NON TURBO brake kit on my car front and back with Mu's!!?? :P

Why take off perfectly good carbon fibre OEM hoods from V-Spec models to replace it with an A/M FRP version from Japan's best A/M dealers? When i could easily take off my alluminium heavy bitch GT-T bonnet?

These options plus a billion other things that i am doing are why i did not buy a GT-R and rather a GT-T...not to mention its non turbo right now (hence im on p's, till the end of the year)...the safest option..and then i think the one with the most fun in it aswell (Personal opinion)...since i get to put every part i want in my car slowly...at my own pace...and learn about it in the process....i thought thats what "tunning" essentially is? More to the fact i thought thats what "Skyline" is...those Group A track cars wernt exactly stock boys :P Neither are most of the heavily tuned GT-R's out there...

Not to mention a GT-R is still a "tuner" car at heart...it is still a platform for those to tune on if they desired....and i so do not have the money nor the heart to strip a GT-R to pieces, when i could do the same to a GT-T and know that the parts im replacing it with are generally all superior in every form and way.

Or i could sell my car and buy that cheap Ferrari and pick up some girls even though im engaged :P lol....

Think you guys are missing the fact that i just wanted results...does 2.8L work well on the RB25DET's? (not RB26's...i know they are decent on them, forget price).

So that being said...forget PRICE...forget GT-R and forget Ferrari and the guys who can afford them (whoever brought that shit up) and can ANYONE give me anymore specifics on the Tomei/HKS kits with the cooling channels for the RB25's??? in terms of dyno graphs, reliability issues..people who may have this kit (even on a RB26 owners with em on)

If not you can continue your lil debate on here.. :) But essentially i think those who tune are on the right platform and those who want prestige...great machines from the box, the badge, the leatherette interiors....go buy your Porsche..i don't really care its not my department and never will be....

All I could find about RB28 was in relation to the RB26 being the donor motor dude, at least in the english written parts of the Tomei website! BTW the mention of Ferrarri was taking a shot at someone's mindset rather than a suggestion of a motoring choice :(

i think your getting confused here.... and since theres so many post...your forgetting who said what.

well i admit that dislike GT-Ts!......but not once, did i say...."you should sell your car and buy a GT-R and work on that instead"

and if you read up.... i mentioned that i may have used to think like that, but ive come into terms that not everyone could always afford a top-of-the-line car... especially something thats 60,000$.

The GT-R and GT-T look at the price tag difference....... 25,000$ apposed to $60,000

even if the GT-T is worked off its tits..... to some people its not their preference.

just like a guy owning a Lamborghini Gallardo for instance....

its FAST but there are a few cars that are actually faster... even the R35 GT-R

times have shown that it has raped the gallardo on the NUR as well as acceleration.

your asking.....well why didn't the Gallardo guy buy a R35?!.................its a different class, different status and especially.....different preference.

so wrong guy dude....

of course its not all about speed... the BNR34 isn't the quickest car on the market...

even if it is or not... its a legendary car which has revolutionised the global motor industry.

cough...really? :( Revolutionary? It uses an engine that dates back to 1989, or earlier if you consider the RB20 before it. It uses an awd system that had been around since 1989, and was ripped of Porsche. It used some alloy in the guards and...well what was revolutionary about them? What makes thm legenday? That they were the feature car in F&F?

ummmmmmmm.......... yes really

*The Skyline GT-R earned the name Godzilla, for its track performance

*the fact that it was Outlawed and banned from Bathurst in 1993 ....

*The Skyline GT-R (R33) was also the first production car to lap the legendary Nurburgring in under eight minutes.

* The R35 has taken nurburgring by storm...and is currently one of the fastest production cars to lap the curcuit.

* Top Gear magazine have compared the GT-R to the Bugatti Veyron. and labeled the GT-R a "baby Veyron" in comparison.

the list goes on..........

I think alot of the posts in here were made heated so words tend to come out without thinking... were all guilty of it from time to time but cmon I think its time to pop our ego's down and shake hands!

I really admire people who spend time engineering their own car, especially the bloke with the VQ! got a thread on the build or some pics?

LOL!

OP, here is a link from Nengun with their pricing on the RB28 stroker, according to their website it will fit the RB25DET fine. http://www.nengun.com/tomei/stroker-kit-ni...ine-rb25-26-28l

Thanks mate yeh i been to nengun/RHD Japan and a few other places and have read the Tomei site, i know the 28 stroker kit fits the RB25 but was just looking at what power they can produce with that kit...

For example from my personal experience and sighting i have seen RB25DET's reach around the 300RwKw mark without too many problems when being built...

But on the hinds sight the reason i wanted to do the RB28 kit was cause to engineer a RB30 block to a RB25 Head from a 34 is a bitch...and vic roads and the cops all say no no no...so want to go as safe as possible, but i do know that with the 30 bottom end that the RB25DET (or should i say RB30DET) can produce in excess of over 400RwKw with not too much problems.

My question really is what is the mark people think the RB28DET could make? i mean if i was to go out build my engine right now...with the best parts i can get my hands on realistically should i not bother with the 28 kit and just build the RB25DET as is? OR get the RB30 S2 block from a VL strap it on and build from there (which is the best option in terms of $ and performance so far that i know of) cept its illegal technically and a bit of a pain to clean up the block and prep it blah blah find out if its worn and stolen all that shit.

Or just buy a 28 stroker kit (yes i know they are pricey but dont look at price too much look at the other variables) and put that on a RB25DET and build that?

Just want to know roughly what power people think it can make with decent engine build since not any people have done stroker kits on RB25's. I would ASSUME theyd make around 350Rw+ but to get an extra 50Rw over a RB25 when i can get 100+ with a RB30 is not worth it...but if they make over 400RwKw+ i will be happy to buy one.

Ps, thanks for all the help and time i see all the boys have kissed and made up too which is good :P

jamie DOESNT have a GTR..

jamie has been 'looking' for an immaculate R34 GTR since October and will never buy one cause he's a poor ass who drives a hilux

jamie can't do shit except read info on the interwebz about a GTR then come on a public forum and talk alotta shit

jamie can't crack any jokes besides the GTS / GST joke.. f**king lame (especially repeating it in every f**king thread that isnt GTR related)

jamie should really just GTFO

Tomei RB28 kit will be able to handle 400rwkw no problem. Its the head that makes the power afterall. Putting in a stroker kit won't instantly make you 400rwkw. Turbo selection, cams, machining of the head and tuning etc will be where you get your power. Fineline has a worked 25 thats making a shedload of power while remaining stock capacity. Its responsive aswell but there a lot of work gone into the head.

Great all i needed to know!

Yeh there will be some serious work going into the full engine but just wanted to know how they hold up with the RB25's, i guess if they work on 26's there should be no problems at all with the 25's if they recommend it can fit to a 25.

Now to start getting all the parts together, should be good!

It should be fine, considering the R34 GTT's use GTR parts on the Neo motor, ie: connecting rods.

I can't wait to see this project, and don't listen to all these wankers who signed up 5 minutes ago with their fully sick gtr's.

Keep us updated with this project, it sounds massive.

And back to the topic..........

Isn't the rb25 bore 86mm? You'll need to get your block bored and get it all balanced out when the stroker kit goes in.

errr i have my own house.. and no i don't rent.. i could have bought a GTR but decided that it wasnt what i wanted for the basis of a couple of factors..

1. It was bought for a weekend car as i have a daily already (what i can afford two cars OMFG) in which i dont even drive it couple of times a month and didnt feel like 50-60k was viable for something i don't use that much

2. I'm buying a second house in which i wouldnt be getting if i bought a GTR

3. For the same reason as others on here.. I like working on my car.. And if i bought a GTR (33 or 34) there is very little i would change as i think they look superb already

4. Once you GTFO i promise i will STFU.. So let me get the door for you?

You seem to think that everyone is poor.. And that owning a GTR gives you some sort of higher class status.. your wrong mate.. You seem to judge everyone on their car.. "Oh no GTR then.. obviously you live in a cardboard box then". And i don't think anyone on here gives two f**king shits about you on here.. I'll judge you on your attitude.. Your a twat.. I'm not getting into a Interwebz fight with you over it.. So sorry for breaking topic and good luck with the conversion (if you choose it)
