I would say 20,000JPY a day will be enough. I mean if you have one good meal a day in tokyo there goes 8,000JPY. drinks in clubs will be around 1,000JPY. a taxi or two each day for short trips will be 2 or 3,000jpy. and if you want to buy anything then add that on top.

but if you just want to eat cheaply then you can get a meal for around 1,000 but beer is the killer at most places, even cheap ramen bars etc. basically like in normal life you'll have to tailor your spending and activities to your budget. I could easily spend $1,000 a day in Tokyo without going stupid. and I could probably live on $150 a day if I really had to. the fun zone is somewhere between the two.

The average entrance fee to a Tokyo club is 3000 - 4000 yen (sometimes as high as 6500, depending whats going on there) , can beer = 700 / 800yen , cocktails minimum 800yen

entrance(3500~) +beers(maybe 8 6400~) + food afterwards (1000+~) + train fare(500~) or taxi (2000~+) = 12900yen = 173.80AUD

as beerbaron said a good meal in tokyo is about 8000yen (id even say a little more depending where and what you order), you would probably eat out every night.

1 club + dinners alone = 600 dollars (for a 4 night stay)

then add, public transport / taxi rides + breakfast + lunch + vending machine drinks anything else you want to buy

at the moment 700AUD = 51,000yen

for a good time in Tokyo, including clubs , shopping and food. For 2 nights 6-700AUD just might be enough, but for 4 nights no way.

yep, that all is about right. and if you []i]really[/i] want to have fun it's not hard to spend decent money in Tokyo. I've spent over 100,000JPY one 1 dinner for 3 people. It was good but not super extravagant. especially when you're on holiday you don't want to be worrying about money. well at least I don't. just enjoy and worry about it later. :D

oh, and the 100,000JPY place was porterhouse in azabu. it was amazing. the best steak of my life. and the alaskan king crab cakes were excellent.

Don't go to "Big Echo" Karoke... i spent well over $100 for 2 hours with 4 beers. Big echo is the multi-chain one...a bit like the Bunnings of Karaoke

I found a cheap good karaoke bar in Shinjuku, which i got for 3 hours and 6-8 beers for $60. I'd tell you the name, but i was VERY smashed after it....sorry.

Don't forget 7-11 and the like sell beer, and there's always beer vending machines. Hell even the suprfunhappydiscountkingpenguin shop sells beer :starwars:

If you can't find cheap beer in Tokyo then you should probably stick to milk ;)r

Whatever you budget, make sure you double it.

Those coffee vending machines are addictive and when you visit them 5-6 times a day, it adds up :D

"Hot corn chowder soup? Yeah why not... I'm freezing my tits off... Sounds good!"

Magic words !! Nomitabihodai!!

Usually around the 2-2500 yen mark at an izakaya. Most are around 90min -3 hour all you can eat and drink. Theres some that are cheaper some more exxy but thats pretty much an average price and for any normal aussie beer pig thats cheap as chips!

    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
    • Did this ever go further ? Would love some updated info
