how much power relaibly can a rb20 gearbox handle?

It's not so much the power that'll kill it, but the way it's handled.

You can take a stock RB20DET, spool her up to 8000rpm, sidestep it and lunch the box.

You can also drop a 400kw RB30DET in front of it, drive like Miss Daisy's in the back and she'll live a long life.

If you blow an RB20DET box with the way you drive, then I suggest an RB25DET conversion.

yeh i have killed two with only 150KW but i drive like a tard....

then theres people like Roy whos got a 200000k old box behind a 270kw monster thats still going strong!

I killed 2x Rb20 boxes, first with 183rwkw out of the RB20 and second was with 183rwkw with the RB30.

I do like to drop 2nd though
