how do i get the codes & does any one have the translation?

also where can i get a timing belt, trans fluid & filter.

what plugs should i use? -stock neo.

does any one know the machinig limit on standard disks?

if any one has any tips on 100k service it would be a huge help.

i could think of someone that USED to do 100k services, at a very good price.

did may of them, and speaking from experience, did a fan-farkin-tastic job...

if he still wants to do them, he will pop his head in and put his hand up for sure.

anyone confirm?

I agree with Craig... Never got him to work on my car but what Ive seen him post he sounds like a top bloke and knows his shit...

As for the 100k service I did mine myself and was rather easy.

Timing belt wise just get a Kit with Idler and Tensioner pulleys to suit a skyline.

Trans, transfer, powersteer and attessa fluid use Castrol transmax Z or another good quality oil with a Dexron III rating. The filter is metal I've read of people just cleaning it.

Do the fuel and 02 sensor while your at it. Fuel filter is common 02 get an el falcon one i think it is and put ur plug on it :D

Plugs depends on how much you want to spend. Look in the stag part lists or search for what Tangles (brendan) uses... he raves about the ones he uses dont cost much just replace them every 5 or 10k. Or spend a bit more and get some that last ages.

As for the codes ask in the Stag section and im sure some one will help you out (most likely chook)

Joeleo87 can hook you up with a gates racing timing belt kit (tensions, seals etc included)

if you want a mechanic to do it for you, give road & track a go - details in my sig

-D

I vote we bring back ryanrb25.... any +1's?

Noticed he doesnt really post much anymore then saw him trying to sell an IC the other day.

i daresay when he feels like offering his services again, youll see him around more often.

but considering the reasons he no longers offers, i dont think any +1's are gonna bring him back.

just sayin.

yeah I know what he means by he got bored of it....

Im a bike mechanic and used to love working on my own shit every night... Now i get home from work and dont even want to know about the damm things with two wheels! Bike gets alote of love when im not to busy at work though :P

    • Unless things that you want to do include reference to time. Simple Boolean logic is only good for digital inputs or analogues that have been thresholded into digitals. But unless you also have a timer function available (which would more ideally be located inside the program, rather than being forced to implement a timer outside the ECU and bring it in as a seperate digital for every time delay you want to implement), then you can't do some of the things that you might want to do. My PLC ladder logics are obviously littered with program blocks, because that's easier than building it all in ladder gates, but the most frequent of those program blocks is a simple timer, because you actually can't otherwise do that in ladder at all.
    • Log voltage. I'm suspecting the alternator. Or even maybe a bad earth somewhere. ie, seeing as it is rev dependent, I am thinking it is alternator dependent.
    • Yeah so N1 and any other larger than factory pump are pretty famous for pumping the sump dry...obviously we don't often get to spend 20 or 30 seconds at high rpm/full noise on the road so I'd still be suspicious that is what is happening here.
    • You are also getting pressure dips on gear shifts. They're just not dipping as far, but they're dipping quite below the amount of oil pressure you should be seeing, for how much RPM drops.   It quite little could be the oil pressure relief valve is starting to stick open a little/is slow to close.
    • Can you log battery voltage, and TPS, and put all four of those into a single image (even as split graphs)?   The oil pressure drops aren't following RPM as such. I'm intrigued if you may have a ground loop between different sensors. With the engine not running, log your sensors and for example cycle the throttle pedal. See if any sensor values flutter or move about. This won't be a perfect test either as the ECU won't be cycling all of its actuators like it would be while running. What EMTRON do you have? Do you have a link to the wiring guide for that ECU?
