What does this achieve other than the convenience of not having to unbolt the ECU to get at the diagnostic codes?
the fact you can plug a carman scan tool like the one we have at work, into it to access the ecu using a hand held computer

well when i was getting my remap done the diagnostics plug was used to keep check on all the cars vitals so i would say it could come it pretty handy.

plus theres a few digital style gauges around that can only be plugged into the diagnositcs plug.

like i said if you were really keen......

Is it the Greddy informeter that plugs in the dianostics plug? Also the nistune remaps use the diagnostic plug.

I thought nistune kit just replaced the diagnostic LED and potentiometer with a USB connector on non-consult ECUs.

my cefiro was rb20 and used to have a diagnostic plug under the drivers side just above where your legs are, it did not fit the tuners plug so when i put the 26 in i soldered in a r32 gtr one straight into the ecu, it is only 6 wires, i have the wiring diagram if you need it. the new rb30/26 is almost sorted now, hope the 32 gtr computer will run it.
