Hey guys,

I plan to do a turbo upgrade on my GTR at home. I mechanically minded and have done most of the work on my cars from home. Just wondering if anyone would have a link to a DIY for a Turbo swap on a R34 GTR or any tips to make it more easier?

Also anything in particular about the R34 GTR that i should know with regards to installing the new turbos? The turbos going on a HKS2530's. I would imagine this will be a tedious process but im up for the challenge. Workshop manual would be fantastic also.

Thanks in Advance

John

Hey mate,

I did all the dis assembly on my R34 myself. I'll tell you know it is a pain in the arse but definitely doable. The part i found most difficult was actually removing the water lines that run inline with the block across the top of the manifolds. Make sure you have a good set of sockets with an extension that lets you get some angle! I didn't have a guide but was also technically minded so it was ok, just started at the airbox and worked my way back and it took me a few days doing it every night. I'm not sure if thats the right way to go about it but thats how i did it! I also have pictures and stuff of some of the steps if you are interested.

Oh also, make sure you can get your car up in the air because some of the water drains are fastened underneath the manifolds and i found the only way to get to them was under the front of the car (Same with removing front pipe / dumps obviously) but like i said i was just doing it the only way i knew how!
