Should have some footage up in the next few weeks of the European trip and some R32 action back home. In the meantime if I haven't whored this enough already, for those that have missed it :P

Spa in Exige -

Silverstone in Caterham -

Now that I see you're back in Oz. Get in touch some time if you need a hand with video editing the HD stuff etc.

lol Roy. I was expecting (or hoping) old mate in the EVO coming out of the pits would have the good sense to stay off the racing line to let people on their flying laps through until he was up to speed... its not like I was the first car to scream past him as he came out, so he shoulda been alerted to the fact that other cars were already on their fliers... I wasn't left with much choice but to take to the dirty side on cold slicks. Wasn't the ideal 1st lap to get back in the groove after not having driven since May! I did knock about 20km/h off as he swung across into the apex, but that was still at 180km/h when I got all loose out in the dirty stuff. I would have loved to have seen his face with me fishtailing past him at those speeds lol

Ok, just downloaded it, will give her a crack!

It’s pretty good. Just make sure you change the aspect ratio to widescreen in the view section, otherwise you’ll get black bars top and bottom. You can save as HD720 or HD 720P

Ok, I think i have it sorted.... some footage from yesterday, RadCam.

Footage quality looks great, whats your thoughts on Radcam vs POV Ben?

I have a POV 1.5 but was contemplating on a second cam, the video quality from the Radcam no doubt eclipses that of the POV and even the first clip you posted I assume was using the inbuilt mic? (if so the onboard audio seemed to be a bit better than that of the POV) just wondering if there are any issues that you have found with the Radcam that you don't like?

Also I guess it's a bit harder to edit and upload the HD footage than it is with the POV?

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
