We went to The Noosa Hill Climb on the weekend, OMG. Ferrari on its side and wedged into the rocks, E Type fell off the hill out of sight, RX7 & Capri rolled over, 1600 head on into some blocks, Fury replica bluebird drilled some blocks. All the fore-mentioned cars need major repairs if not written off. the were several more offs into the fence but nothing like these.

It is a very challenging track and we will be heading back next year to go 1 better, not happy with 3rd.

I was being a bit arty with this clip, I'll endeavor to get a normal run or 2 up later.

Just smiled perdy..... :action-smiley-069:

They have an invited class that you can enter and I got invited, I guess going to alot of the Street Sprints with them helps.

There is also the Tigh Cams round there in the middle of the year which should be easier to enter. I will keep an ear out and let you know when its open for entries, other sprint rounds as well if you like.

No, going away with the family this weekend, besides, I've had over 20 race weekends this year. I think I've had enough for this year.

I picked up my new VBox Lite last week and had a chance to play with it at the ATC event at Lang Lang on the weekend. Here's a couple of vids from the event - although you'll notice the "foot-cam" slowly gets moved as the day goes along so that still needs some work.

But overall I'm pretty impressed with it and its a nice step up from the POV1 (but I just wish is was in full wide-angle).

Anyways - Event 1 (Ride and Handling Course)

Event 2 - Skidpan

Here's some incar from the Sil80 at Lakeside last weekend, staring Marlin giving the KU36 a workout in the 32 and shooting a few flames after he passes me. I was struggling with brake problems, which isn't an excuse for Ben passing me, its... well you'll see...

well, that was my second spin there on the day so I had it pretty much down pat by then. i was reminded of your Sandown vid as I departed the track the first time backwards at high speed waiting for a sudden stop... But I didn't get that session on video...

I never really felt 'on it' last weekend. I was lifting in places I normally go flat without a second thought (like under the bridge) and I had to consciously make myself attack the corners. That's just not me. I think the 6 months of driving around in a AWD AYC car everyday, some of the gayness has rubbed off on me. Good thing its now sold!

yeah, the car felt alot better, but it was far too hot to expect any sort of decent time yesterday. At least the car never went over 90deg. Main changes were the whiteline adjustable radius arms (aka traction arms) in the rear and I spent about half a day with my home made bump steer rig setting them up. It was a massive eye-opener to see how bad it was at standard length! Also dropped springs rates down to 325lb F & 225lb R springs. That's about 6/4kg. previously 7/6kg.

You've gotta get out there next year Russ, its one of the best tracks around!

    • Yes.  The only scenario I can imagine when the answer isn't yes, is if you drive like there is highway patrol behind you at all times.  If your car currently runs, enjoy it and keep saving. Better costs more, keep saving until you can budget the better ECU. It's worth it.  Nope. Plenty of us making >300kw on unopened motors. Mine is unopened and makes about 350kw if I turn everything up, its fine (lots of caveats here, how the car will be used/abused, how long you expect the engine to last between rebuilds, how has the engine been maintained prior to coming into your ownership, etc etc).
    • Sorry just wanting to clarify, at this power goal, which should I be going? Also, More info regarding suspension, the rear upper camber arms were used to get the camber back to i believe around -0.5 ~ -1 degree (@ Road and Race in Rydalmere), I forgot the exact figure, but ALOT less camber than what it came originally which was like -2.5degrees. Are the traction arms still recommended? The bilsteins from SydneyKid, they've got 400lb/in fronts & 275/in in the rear, revalved to his specs. Intercooler, I'm just having a look at some on Rakuten.jp and some other japanese sites. Might get something from back there, GReddy, Blitz or HPI, all crossflow. Looking at roughly $450-$500 AUD + shipping... Theres not many choices except that chinese branded Justjap unless you go for blitz return flow. Yeah, only downside with Haltech is the price ahhaha, so expensive, and with all the sensors if I go that route... $$$$$ yeesh. Are headstuds/gaskets needed for <300akw?
    • Haltech fanboi reporting in. Buy the Haltech!
    • You can try shoving a borescope down there to see what's up.
    • I could see someone trying this to save money on oil changes.
