How Much Can I Sell My Damaged Rb26dett For?

Unfortunately I have a problem with my RB26 and I dont have the time to rebulid my motor so I am just doing an engine transplant.

How much should I expect to sell my old engine for? Its a complete engine without turbos?

Heaps of different opinions from different people regarding what its worth, and just looking for a rough estimate of price for parts from ppl on here?

I see good working ones going for $4500, so just wondering what I should list mine for sale as?

as ALOT of people will ask, whats wrong with it?

If its just something simple as bearing, freshen up and its good - expect half of a good condition motor.

if its anything more that may require pretty much everything new, and the only usable parts are the head and block, all internals need replacing, i wouldnt be holding my breath for much.

Hate to sound vague but it is only worth what people are willing pay. so don't hope for much put it on ebay with an asking price you think is fair and just keep dropping it till you get some bites.

have you pulled the engine down? ring lands are the common failure on stock rb engines but how do you know for sure?

but without photos and professional assessment not a lot of people are gonna take the punt considering more damage may have resulted. eg damaged bore, bits may have sucked into the oil pump, rod damage etc.
