Rather than just continue to completely whore the other topic, I just thought I'd decide to save the mods the trouble

get to it.. I just thought i'd start by asking:

So just why the hell are you building a car Inasnt that is about 3 states away and you can't drive? and can't even oversee the build process? and why is it going to be so good that one day in the far distant future when it is done?

:D

haha u knob!

I am building it coz even tho i am 2500 KM away from it now i wont be in QLD for the rest of my life, the project i am working on finishes at the end of this year, so i have all the time after that to drive it!

It will be done sooner than u think, as i said 1 to 2 weeks, its at ice getting the final stages done to it now.

I havent said anything about it before coz i was waiting till it was finished to make a post, then i might aactually have a chance of being as cool as u and your xf wagon :D

:D good idea this thread i think

INASNT. as i said in another thread.

Just to bring this to lght for all ... :)

This was my Question

mmm... Denham, you aint even rebuilt your motor... and it's been off the road for how long?

Anyone would think spending how ever much you have been, both time and money, you were rebuilding the motor ???

j/k

Just how much HAVE you spent denham (if i can ask)

to chase your power goal?

This was the response

I was gonna go the full hog and rebuild the motor but i am saving that $$ for my new house.

As for the total spent from transforming it from stock as from when i bought it, there isent much left from 10g of the $$ i sorta know of for performance parts, other $$ was spend on cosmetic stuff

So my next question...

what are you talking about LOL!

You've spent wat... 8G's on ricing your car and 2G's on a turbo ?

ahhahaha!

What does it look like with those new rims you bought for it anyhow?? Weren't they something like $4k ? And you reckon you don't want to spend money on the engine?

coming back for summer not so silly though.. its been raining here the last couple of months pretty much every 2nd day.

So my next question...

what are you talking about LOL!

You've spent wat... 8G's on ricing your car and 2G's on a turbo ?

no fool 10g on performance plus x amount on rice!!

Pred

I havent bought those 5K Alstadt Legard 18inch deep dishes as yet, plus if i did i would have got em with 12 months interest free which is alot easier than forking it all out at once.

Oh!

hahah!

So ... so far, including this 6 month turbo.

You've spent 10 G's on mods?

it aint a 6 month turbo, its just coz i havent been in mel for more than 1 week at a time for the last few months to organise it!

as for the exact $$ of mods, i aint 100% sure, and i dont really care about the exact figure as its only money :D

lmao darK what's that in celcius and farenheit eh? and what would be the rate of evaporation of methyl hydroxide left in the open sun on taht day with the sunlight at a 45 degree inflexion and the surface area of the container exposed to direct sunlight and open air equal to 5cm2. You may assume that air current does not aid in evaporation.

    • Exhaust end of this month, and then tune after that whenever there is availability. Still tossing up between a pure 98 tune or a flex 98/e85 combo.  The (lack of) milage in e85 isnt great. Start to get anxiety if i go for a long drive and there arent any united servo's nearby
    • I mean I can be OCD'y but this is really over the top. At that point why not just run a full wideband fuel controller? Especially if you run 3 widebands. The system works pretty well, which is trimming low load stuff to be within a few percent of the base map. Pre-engine _change_ the base map was only 1-2% off, depending on ambient temp, elevation, etc. Under load the LS is really very straightforward to tune, enough that a wideband closed loop would be overkill. If I really cared (and I hope I don't) I can always just go back to the MAF system the car actually came with. Which does all those nice calculations for me (temp, altitude, etc), now that you can buy 102mm MAF's that do not cause restrictions.
    • Good afternoon Team , just a quick update on performance mods  Current Mods list (Installed) HKS - Power Editor (Came with the car) looks to be some kind of boost controller RV37 Skyline 400R (SKYLINE) | FUJITSUBO  - Cat Back  RV37 Skyline 400R (SKYLINE) | FUJITSUBO  - Front Pipe AMS  - INFINITI Q50/Q60 RED ALPHA COLD AIR INTAKE KIT AMS  - Performance Heat Exchanger Intercooler Not Yet AMS Alpha Performance Full Race Down Pipes  - to be installed in May
    • I'd be installing 2x widebands and using the NB simulation outputs to the ECU.
    • Nah, it's different across different engines and as the years went on. R32 era RB20, and hence also RB26, the TPS SWITCH is the idle command. The variable resistor is only for the TCU, as you say. On R33 era RB25 and onwards (but probably not RB26, as they still used the same basic ECU from the R32 era), the idle command is a voltage output of close to 0.45V from the variable resistor.
