Have you got a 60 gig? I have heard of many launch 60 gig's copping the YLOD etc. Haven't heard of many problems with the 40 and 80 gig.

Check www.myps3.com.au somewhere on the forums there they have links on DYI fixes etc

You were meant to be an xbox owner in this life thats why you will always have problems with the ps3.

Dont know if thats true, just guessing.

ive owned every PS you can get, the PS1 was second hand and had a good hiding before i got it, never missed a bet, the PS2 was flawless for 6 yrs, and my PS3 has never had an issue

all i can say is heat kills anything, they get mighty hot, keep them in a well ventilated area when running, if its in a TV cabinet, install extra cooling

ive got 2 PC fans on a transformer screwed into the back of my cabinet for extraction

I had the 60g Aussie model 6 months after buying it, it died

so I rang up Sony and they repaired it for free. But I was still

without for a couple of months. I got it back and threw in a 240gb

hdd an it hasn't missed a beat now.
