225 wide tyres on 6.5 rims?

Anyone running 225/50s on their stock 32gtst rims?

interested to know whether there is much overhang and also whether there is a shitload of tyrewall flex when turning hard

dunno if this is of any help, but i am using 7inch wide wheels with 225/50 on the Datsun with no problems at all....i am also running 225/50 on the R33 stock wheels (6.5???) at the rear, not much overhang and very happy with them.

Yeah I'm running 225/50/16 on the stock 16/6.5 r33 rims with no probs...

Looking to u/g to 17/7 when I have to replace the tyres though.

9krpm approx 230 last time i enquired, and yes you can run 225/50/60 on 16/6.5'' wheel, but they buldge out heaps and are not good for handling only better traction

I truly wouldn't recommend oversized tires on standard rims. Before i got my 17x8's i had 225/50 Bridestone S02's on standard rims. While they're one of the best tires and they gave great traction, going around corners fast felt like roller skating on jelly. They also bulged about 1.5cm past the rim.

If you want good handling/traction you should keep the standard tire size and get a very good tire (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-d3 etc), or just wait til you can afford some wider rims to accomodate the extra mass.

yeah as i posed in the other thread...i just got 225/50/6 on my stock 33 rims and im not too happy with the handling. should have read this thread before i went out and got them
