Led's For R34 Headlights

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm from Melbourne and I was driving in Clayton and saw a black R34 with 5 or 6 blue LED lights inside the headlights just under the globes like the new Audi's. Does anyone know about this? Is it custom or does someone do it? I'll try and get a pic next time I see it.

This must be the one you're talking about.

Found a pic of it.

Does anyone have a link to the guide?

I bought those led strips off ebay a few weeks ago as I was gonna do this ..still haven't gotten around to it, mainly because it's a major pain in the ass.. Basically you gotta take you whole front bar off to be able to reach a couple of bolts under the headlights. Remove the entire headlight housing ... bake the headlights in an oven carefully so the glue starts melting (you can use a heatgun too apparently) so that you can pry off the lense off each. Then insert the leds and reseal the lens back using an appropriate sealant..put everything back together and ta-da. Obviously you will need to connect the wires to a 12V source but that should be a trivial matter for any sparky..

Having said that ..I reckon the one in the photo above has too many leds too close together .. fewer LEDs with more space between each would look more awesome. Perhaps even curving them upwards near the parkers..

I like the idea and have been looking into it myself. on my S2 r34 the front bar is thinnner and I could take a bar light of LEDS to look stockish

agree that one has too many LED's but looks nice

Led lights are easy as hell to hook up you dont need a sparky just need to know the right resistor to use for the current draw at 12volts

depends on the LED's but its easy

positive there illegal ....in any colour but white - NOT ADR approved unless marked

you can order pre built ones from the UK with TUV approval for use so at least they wont be a total defect
