Heaving Steering Cefyy

Recently purchased a ceffy which come with

- The heaviest steering ever, bit like a vb commodore.

Power steering fluid level is all good the punp is silent as, no leaks that i can see.

So whats the problem ( rack ) ?

Any info appreciated.

Power steering pump could possibly be worn out.

Could be a hicas related issue (have heard stories of steering going heavy after installing hicas lock bars).

havnt been totally under car yet had wheels off, their is no lock bar and no hicas, i think its had cradle change.

power steering pump same as any r32/33 ?

Rack could also be dead, thats what happened to mine

what rack fits them s14/r32 i have read is either any better to use ?

what sort of $$$$ should one set me back

S13, S14, R32, not sure about R33. Couldn't tell you how much they are check the classifieds sections.

Pumps are same as R32 RB20, depending on whether it's hicas or not and you may have to change the pulley if it has a different number or ribs on the belt.

I had a similair problem. turns out the adjustment nut on the rack had been over tightened by somebody trying to stop it leaking or something.

i bent the speed sensor up under the front bar, i unplugged the wire that goes to the power steering lines on drivers side ( 4 hoses to it ) and wound the adjustment nut out.

this helped some but not sure which really helped lol.

also how far can that adjustment nut be wound out ?
