When I bought my car it had eye lids on the headlights that had been attached with double sided tape.

Me and my mate pulled them off and after finally getting rid of all the tape we were left with the sticky substance from the tape.

We got most of it off with metho and thinners but on one of the lights it seems as though its just smeared all over and I cant get it off.

I also tried using a cutting compound which made it a little bit better but still has a misty look to it.

Does anybody know what else i could use to get this sh*t off.

If theres nothing i can do and Ive just wrecked the plastic does anyone know if i can replace the plastic casing or do i need new headlights.

Cheers.

Hi all

Just thought ide let you know how i went with the headlights.

Step 1. I ended up Using a very fine wet and dry sand paper (1200 grit)

Step 2. Then I used a buff with cutting compound.

Step 3. After that i applied some polish with a polish cloth and they came up good as new.

Hope this is useful
