Damm i love this car.

the colour looks better on the stagea than the fords. now if only i could afford to do this (different colour of course) to my car, i like the gtr front ends, i think they look more how they should be than the stagea front end.

hmmmm to win lotto

Bit of an update. Progress has been slow

New turbo is in along with new manual rear cradle

Currently have inlet plenum off and fitting a greddy copy along with detail and painting engine parts

New wheels sitting there ready to go on. Rays GT-'c 19x9.5 +12

Still to come, paint and rebuild brake calipers, modify the exhaust and inlet piping and get it tuned and fit the evo 8 recaros

That should be it until the engine blows and then decide on rb30 or rb26

This is probably Oz's best example of a 34 conversion.

Great to see progress on this particular car.

cost depends on how much work you can do yourself, what genuine parts you use, what quality conversion guards etc. expect a clean 'factory' looking conversion to set you back around 5k

can be done to any c34

lol.... That's pretty optimistic mike. It is almost 5 k in parts alone..if you include new HID lights. Second hand GTR lights(have a black surround) arnt to cheap either. But mike, including paint and depending on if you fit the kit yourself, new or used parts, your looking at anywhere between 5-9k..IMO.

sorry, i assume most people won't fork out for the HID's so i never include them in the costing of it haha

Haha, Dw..im continully thinking about doing this conversion, calculating it all up and feeling..optimistic that it'll hapen sooner than i thought. Only then do i remember i forgot to factor in the Lights, plus the frount mount I would want, and wheels to set it off haha.

Mine comes soon, factory bonnet, front bar with lower lip, gaurds, rad support, some cool rear flares, and headlights.... not costing anywhere near what you guys (Scotty & Mike) are saying

Yeah I did will be sweet after I get it on pretty much the same way Darrin has done his

Great work. I would love to see some close pic's of the bonnet hinge mounting. Also what front bar reo they used, if it has one and what/how they did the radiator support.

Do you know if it was fitted by Masa or someone else.

Get IM to to take pic's as they pull it apart

Are you lucky enough to have a white stagea as well?

Pm what you paid for it.

Aaron sent me alot of pics already, I'll be throwing them up after I get the kit. I'll make another build thred about mine and be taking loads of pics, I'm getting basically the whole front end from what Aaron has told me so I'll be able to unstich the rad support myself. This way i'll be able to check out how it's done. Not sure who fitted it in japan but apparently they are genuine masa gaurds.

I have a black rs stag with leather and sunroofs, looking at importing an autech and "exchanging" the rb26 gearbox and awd get up... But it will stay black  they look porn in black :)

    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
    • Did some FASTing ...got the impression that the actual part# was a moot point ; seems all of these hardlines for coolant are discontinued/NLA... like, I take it you're after the hardline that bolts onto to the manifold...that's NLA according to amayama & nengun .... ...just to clear up some confusion, they typically mounted the AAC valve to the intake manifold somewhere near a coolant passage, so the body of the valve heats up & holds it open when engine's up to temp - no coolant flows through the valve, it's a mechanical, thermal connection.
