Thats due to the level of modification, i am just demonstrating what the original purchaser may have paid for such a car. You also have to consider the costs in compliancing (old scheme), etc.

Please do not mis-read my intentions Jet.

It is a great car, and i am seriously considering buying it. But for a realistical agreed price (once it has been checked and cleared).

If the car has not been sold by mid Nov. i will get in touch with you. At the moment i am just too busy.

What type of handling mods goes the car have? ie: brakes, suspension, etc.

u can buy that car if u want, but u cant road register it or drive it so wots the point....its only allowed to be used for racing

and even then u still need a level 3 cams...good luck getting one of them

its similar to mine, but not the same

and 21k? i think thats the typo

im sellin mine for around mid 30s, uve spend 30k on yours already and look at the difference......enuff said

i know what was paid originally al, but ya kidding if u think u can ever get 1 like that, for those prices, unless u have real connections

im not even really trying to sell it, i lov the car to death, every time i put my foot down i just go WOW! but ive put it out on the market cos if i get a good offer i will take it...simple as that, cos there r some other things i want to do, dirtbikes etc etc, but either way im a happy man

i just read ya link about the car "like mine" properley

its nothin like mine, its NO WAY near as modified, the mods list is not even close to mine, add to that, that car is almost 31k, then u gotta pay to return that entire car to stock b4 bringin it in, then add to that u cant road register it or even race it without a level 3 cams....makes mine look a whole lot better...thanks! haha

they dont mention wot ecu, wot injectors, wot clutch, or even gearbox...cant be too impressive when they list things such as gearknobs and pedals over thos crucial parts

as for returning the car to stock, ignoring all the garage time needed along with finding all the stock parts and the $$$, then uve also gotta get an rb25 for it and fit it etc etc etc (plus it says it cant be done udner SEVS so this car is basically unimportable)

and if it was possible, ud b lookin at 40k+ EASY 2 have a car u cant use at all

ps mines my daily driver right now :):D:D

u can buy that car if u want, but u cant road register it or drive it so wots the point....its only allowed to be used for racing

just bring her in... engine and everything goes out and into your car.. throw shell away.. its worth $26k in parts over here easy.. i can see that is going to be happening a bit.

Anyway, i don't know how this turned into a "hack onto Jet" thread.. its his car (and a great one at that!) and he can sell it for whatever he likes. And he's right, tell me you can find any similarly modded car anywhere around that is road registered, etc under the new import scheme. Its just not possible, so therefore his car is probably worth more than when it was brought in.

Sorry Jet, i didn't realise how easily my comments could be mis-interpruted (sp?).

I said i will NOT make a stupid offer like $21k for such a well moded car. At the same time i will not pay $40k+ for a R33 gtst, no matter what the mods.

I will also not make any offer over the net, some things are best done in person and once things have been checked out properly.

Yes that car was race use only and would cost more to import as street use. But i personally disagree with you about the level of modification, as things such as injectors, ecu, etc. go without saying.

If you feel as though i have been bagging the car, i haven't. In fact in a few posts i have acknowledge how good the car is. The only thing i have questioned was the post where you started talking about the $40k price tag.

I do acknowledge that to get my car to the level of modification as yours would cost me much more, that is the sole reason why i am considering this option. But i am not too fussed either as i will be extremely happy to make my car produce 250-270rwkw, and all i need to acheive this is the turbo and fuel system.

So i wish you every bit of luck with the car and hope that i have not lost a friend, as my intension was not to bag/hack you.

Alan

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
