remap is by far easier, quicker and cheaper

Agreed. I swear by a re-mapped ECU. That way the trans remains happy and you have a stealth tune that a police officer can't detect and can be easily de-tuned for EPA purposes. No-one's the wiser (without taking your ECU apart.)

those are some valuable information guys. pardon me but does all this mean that if i remap my ecu it lessens the load on the autobox thus enabling it to handle more power?

No, we're just mentioning that a remapped ECU won't effect the auto control side of things whereas an aftermarket ECU generally will.
