Anyone know how to get the interior mirror out, the camera didn't work out too good last time, nice view of my eyes

I will have my EMS sorted by then, and with my new front mount I should be able to go hard and not be at the back of the pack like last time.

I've had my front rotors skimmed and put greenstuff pads in. Should sort the problem I was having when slowing down from 180...

Next problem is the petrol spilling out on the bends, I can't see anything wrong. I'll try and get a new filler cap, is this a common problem, anyone else suffer from petrol spilling on hard bends ?

Sounds like you have some nice mods installed...

With the filler cap thing.. I've noticed everyone does it. Especially

with the first few laps when they got full tanks. Just don't top it

up too much at the petrol station. U should be alright. 3/4 of a

tank is plenty for half a day..

well people out there that did would have met one of the instructors called bruce. just spoke to him just then and mentioned that if we fire him some cash say 120-140 buck he will be the skylinesaustralia private instructor. no i don't kow who would be interested but for say 20 bucks you should be able to get a full session of instruction.

tell me if you interested and we can c what he want.

for people who r beginners this would be a very worthwhile investment casue you can learn the best lines ect

a 20 minute session with a instructor would be a very god learning experience and for people who have done lots days. you could show him what you got the he could help you out on point that your lacking

Remembering some of the track days I have been to in the past and the misfortune that befalls some of the inexperienced drivers I feel that it should be a condition that newbies are shown the track/lines/breaking points etc. by someone who knows the track, much like many of the car clubs who organise track days are doing.

The Honda club has one of their experienced people drive you in your car which can be a way of monitoring the condition of brakes, steering etc.

Hopefully this can only make everyones day more enjoyable - especially if everyone makes it to the Arms in one piece.

Now - why did I think of this all of a sudden, obviously my car is not a goer yet hahahaha.

On a similar note i think drivers should be wary of track rules such as letteing faster cars go thru. Last drive day there was a couple of cars that clearly held up the entire group, namely a white commodore SS, an aussie built Ultima GTR, A Maloo ute, and another red classic sports coupe of some description.

It's one thing to have a bit of fun with each other, and its another thing to continualy block faster cars from passing. The result is peak hour traffic Parramatta Rd style on a track with 15-20 or so cars doing 200km/hr on the straight. The marshalls give sufficient distance b/w releasing cars. If u can close that gap, the chances are u shuld be in front of the car.

either indicate and slow down allowing the car to pass, or wait till the straight and pull over to the left.

apologies if i sound like a "know all" its just i know how ****ty it feels when ur caught behind a white commodore SS on a drive day who fair enuff is driving within their own limits, but don't respect the other drivers stuck behind.

If I see a faster car coming up from behind, I get off the racing line and let them through. Common sense really.

Seriously though, if the groups of cars are OK, this should be minimised. There are usually either 3 or 4 groups based on ability, and perhaps we skyliners should not always look just to have a group to ourselves, split over the 4 groups instead.

I think its important that novice drivers feel comfortable on the track, hopefully in their own group. We all had a first drive on the track once, and I guess none of us were Fangio that day.

Its great to see new ppl coming out on the track, and we should be doing everything possible to encourage them - track days with plenty of participants should be a key part of this club, given the type of cars we drive. In fact, I'd hope that sometime we have enough ppl interested to book out a track ourselves for a day.

I agree with all the above. It's a two way street (no pun).

If you are coming up behind a slower car approaching a corner, back off and let them stay ahead. The slower car should then move over once through the corner.

A slower car should not be made to take the wrong line through a corner and no passing should be done on corners anyway. :uh-huh:

I agree.

I've only been to two track days so i still consider myself a

newbie. I understand it can be frustrating getting stuck behind

someone on their first day, but being new to the track not

knowing braking points, how the car handles at certain speeds.

Ain't these what track days are all about? Finding your limits, and

your cars? Also worrying about not crashing it into the concrete

wall. To be honest keeping an eye on my rear view mirror would

be the least of my worries unless i'm on a straight or something.

If you have excelled and can overtake people, then you should

move up a class. By doing this will also help improve your lap

times and braking points.

This is just a general point of view as I have been in both

situations.
