They wont get off the 'hoon band wagon' while there are complete dickheads like Kurt from Mandurah who brags about it and clearly shows no respect to law enforcement.

There is always going to be that minority though.

Why does everyone not go and get a race license and get out on the track.

I personally never get impressed by a burnout...but to see some good laps times at AHG or Wanneroo etc, then those times improve....that impresses me (both car and driver) :)

No matter where it is, it wont work....especially since it has the support of the police who will 'supervise for safety'.

While i think its a good idea to have police support, i can see them coming down hard on people there the very moment some hero opens his mouth or does something stupid or damages a car due to 'recklessness' etc....which will happen.

I think its a great idea to do this and have it out away from suburbia but i dont think it work and it keeps police busy and away from other stuff that may be needed urgently in the area and the Ellenbrook police are limited in numbers as it is already.

Just my 2 cents :)

It might just relieve the strain on the police being that all the bunky commodores and silvias will be in the one place :( That being said, my car that can do burnouts, I wouldn't take anywhere near there if it's run and/or supported by the police :P

*sigh*

is anyone else sick of hearing the word "hoon"

ffs let us drive in peace..

Yes.

Why do a lot of people say things like this? I've never been pulled over because of the car I drive. Always been a reason I've been pulled over.

Agreed, but I still don't like the looks or extra scrutiny that comes with driving an import. Luckily this is drastically reduced with teh bus :(

Because the pants you wear like that dipshit " Kent " :)

;)

That's very un-Australian of you Bard!!

bubba you coming cruise 2moro?

Nah got a tournament on Sunday, need to psych myself up to shoot people and have an early night ;)

P.S. Bard, we're talking turbo6's here, not paddock bashing corollas :P

P.P.S. that actually explains a lot :)

Thread completely derailed......

How much does public liability affect what goes on in private property that is open to the public? burnout pads..... probably not going to happen for that alone?

And I can't believe I never noticed the tshirt george bush is wearing until now...... and how long has that been brad's avatar?

I think its up to the owner of the land to ensure public liability insurance? Would be very costly though so probably wouldnt happnen if on pvt property. In the event iof a big incident (crash, injury or death) the owner of the land would be 100% liable.

Wouldn't he be able to just get people to sign a form saying he is not liable for any damage/death/whatever caused... like at the motorplex?

Even the motorplex has public liability insurance.

Youll also notice they must have a certain amount of staff there, plus Ambulance and fire vehicles etc etc (also staff have to be trained in certain areas etc)

Not to mention Andra being involved so those fees/licences need to be paid for and issued.

sounds all to hard it prob wont happen

and if it does wont there be cops there just waiting to give people stickers n what not?

Exactly!

To make it work the owners would have to charge people to use the pad, and people wont pay anyway....thats why we dont get too many drivers to the ttrack days. :)

nah bet you hes set up some payment with the cops lol

he brings all the "hoons" to his place and then the cops fine them.give them stickers.impound or whatever

seriously if anyone is stupid enough to go there then there asking to get caught...

no such thing as legal racing/burnouts unless its in a proper place not someones backyard

well thats what i think..

It says he has support of local government etc. I was discussing this yesterday actually with a mate and we were saying exactly that, insurance is going to be the killer along with things like noise constraints etc.

If local government is backing it you'd expect that noise issues would be fairly nulled (especially right next to the raaf base).

If he charged everyone a flat fee to go on the pad, layed some cones out and that I know that I'd be up for it. The problem with track days AHG,Barbs etc, is you can't just go down there when you feel like it, theres predetermined dates. And with Barbs, it's expensive. Cams liscense+WASCC+fee each time.

With a small amount of work on running this place I think it could be a great idea, and to those worried about cops hanging around and stickering people, they do it at barbs after drift days already so there's really not that much difference, and lets not forget that day at the drags where cops stickered a bunch of people. To be honest yellow stickers are one of those things that don't bother me hugely when they are deserved by the car, however it's when they sticker something that's legal due to their own ignorance that annoys me.

I think everyone is being a bit quick to judge this kent guy, you can't believe that he actually said that shit without knowing the context it's in, I'd like to hear Kent's side of things before I jump on the hate wago.

P.S. I used to wear pink trackies to bed, gf made me throw them out. :)

so what about all those people that leave kwinana drags on a Wednesday night??

There's cops there watching and cops waiting outside the venue when everyone leaves..

They don't dish out stickers fines etc

If you go to this burnout and drop a skid, and are stupid enough to drive off with bald tyres then yeah you deserve a yellow sticker for your stupidity..

Comes down to common sence..

If you wanna be a sickflamin mongrel and drop skids and "hoon" around then yeah you deserve everything you get

On the weekend I got pulled over by cops.. Wasn't doing anything wrong.. Just rbt

I co-operated, cop looked over my whole car, inside, engine bay, boot, everywhere

I thought yep, yellow sticker for sure.. The guy said "no worries mate, drive safe"

Considering I have no interior in my car, roll cage, it's loud as f**k, got a highmount, no permits for any mods.. He still let me go..

Why?

I dunno..

Maybe coz I was nice to him? Coz I co-operated? Coz I wasn't doing anything wrong to begin with?

Maybe he was just a nice guy?

Moral?

Don't do stupid shit and you won't get raped

I cbf typing anymore

If you don't like it.. Sell your car, buy a camry..

    • I'm running a Haltech Platinum Pro with the stock map for the RB20DET + tweaks for my build. When I started it this morning, the IAT was at 32F/0C (Outside temp was ~42F) and the AFRs went off the scale for my AEM gauge. I let it run for ~30 seconds then turned it off. I then did a smoke test, by hooking into a vacuum line directly behind the throttle body, and confirmed there was no leaks ( i let the smoke tester run for ~5 minutes / confirmed it was generating smoke before hand ). I then started the car again, after fixing a power steering leak.... and it seemed to be happy for ~30 seconds (was at ~11/12), but then seemingly shot back up to ~18 again. I then let the car run for a few minutes, thinking this was just cold start related, but the AFRs never came back down. I didn't let the car fully warm up, so maybe this makes sense, but I'm not sure what to do? The AFRs, when I last ran it, were normal, but because of personal reasons I haven't been able to break in the car. It was rebuilt last year.
