Hi Guys,

I've got the oppurtunity of purchasing a GTRS turbine housing (.64)

I want to know if it would bolt up to the standard r33 / r34 turbo core

this is to save me looking for an r34 OP6 .63 turbo and rear housing.

reason for doing this is i'm wanting to high flow an r34 turbo for my r33.

so i want a hybrid turbo using a HKS GTRS .64 turbine housing, r33 core and compressor housing high flowed.

CAN IT BE DONE??

thanks guys

You will need to make sure the GTRS housing is going to suit the wheel size you will be using in the highflow. If not, then it could foul or have too much clearance. If you are going to highflow the turbo anyway, there is no point getting a different housing. The one on there is going to flow the same as a GTRS anyway, possibly more.

And is it a GTRS T25 flange or T3 flange?

Not sure? is there any way to visually tell?

its got a 4 bolt pattern with rectangle opening.

T3 is 4 bolts, rectangle opening?, t25 is 3 bolts, circular opening?

I'll have a R34 OP6 0.63 turbo up for sale probably next week if you can wait.

Im in Auckland, NZ :)

No, T3 and T25 are both 4 bolts, rectangular. T25 is smaller. The turbo on your R33 and R34 are both T3 flange. A GT-RS is usually T25 but you can opt for a T3 flange from HKS when buying them.

If you are buying it second hand, then measure the centre-of-hole to centre-of-hole dimensions and I can tell you which one it is

The turbines are a different profile in Hitachi (R34GTt) and Garrett GT28 NS111 (GTRS) .

The Hitachi cartridge is bulkier than the Garrett one so I'm not sure if the Hitachi one could be made to fit a Garrett housing .

Just for the record 0.64 A/R is the smaller of two housing sizes Garrett make for that GT28 turbine , the larger one is 0.86 A/R .

HKS had their own turbine housings made but only in the 0.64 A/R size , Garrett don't do either in "T3" flange size .

If anyone wants to sell one for sane money I'm looking for an OP6 Hitachi turbine housing/R34 turbo in good condition .

BTW to make a Skyline spec GTRS turbo aside from the HKS turbine housing all you need is a Garrett GT2871R 52T cartridge and some machining mods to a T04B comp housing . Get a big snout one and convert it to a ported shroud inlet and thats about it .

I have uses for the T3 flanged HKS turbine housing and a Hitachi OP6 one ATM .

Trying not to be greedy , cheers A .
