ok im currently looking into rebuilding the engine on my r33 gtr, mainly just looking at bottom end parts atm as i already have cams and sum other hardware. I dont want to go totaly crazy with the build so this is the list of parts that i have in mind so far:

looking into one of croydons rebuild kits which includes

Arias pistons

eagle rods

nissan genuine gasket kit

trust drag metal head gasket

acl engine bearings

along with these im looking at

N1 oil pump

N1 water pump

tomei sump baffle

tomei oil restrictor

ross harmonic balancer

Arp head studs

Arp main studs

is there any other vital things that i should include or is there anything there that i dont need?

the turbo that im gona be supporting is a trust t88 33d. The car is an every day car with drag use also.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

id use the acl vrs kit, good quality headgaskets and comes with all the other gaskets you need for the build.

with that turbo and the drag use i wouldnt use an N1 pump, id put atleast either a jun or tomei pump on but ideally i'd use an external pump.

no need for an N1 water pump.

you'll want an extended sump not just a baffle plate to keep it alive.

LOL

yeh i ment as in spend ridiculous amounts of money on things that i dont realy need. the car is remaining a daily driver, driven to and from work every day and only occasional trips to the drag strip. im only after sumthing that will hold together while being able to support good power, not an all out drag engine

as above with a Nitto pump as suggested.

items not required if looking to save a few bucks...arp studs and eagle rods. Stock resized rods with arp bolts hold up 460AWKW without a drama along with new Nissan bolts for the mains and head.

how much power are you aiming for Chris???

idealy im hoping for sumthing on or near the 400kw mark at the wheels. from looking at other gtrs with this turbo and reasonable engine builds i was thinking that this would be achievable, please correct me if im wrong tho

the turbo is going to be massively lazy without any sort of proper boost, and if u do stretch its legs its going to fly well over 400rwkw.

if u 'only' want 400rwkw u should think about down sizing ur turbo to either a gt35r 1.06ex or a t04z .82ex

That is a "half empty" outlook shanef, a "half full" approach would be to up the spec of you rebuild and go for 500kW+...

what do u consider proper boost? i was thinking that the tuner would run it at sumwhere near 22psi or more. im willing to take as much power as it and the engine are gona give me, but thats just the sort of area i was looking around, if it comes up with more than yeh its not gona bother me.

25+psi.

do you want any drivability out of the car? i.e do you want it to have plenty of pull down low and spool up early? or do you not really care about that. if the answer is yes then you are going to have to spend some bucks on the cylinder head aswell.

im not overly concerned about pull down low. im already awhere that im not goin to make full boost until say 5500, but ive got the smallest version of the T88 33d and also my boost controller has boost gain but im not sure if thats goin to help much

I beleive the T88 is what a friend runs, Don't think it starts seeing boost until 5000RPM... That's ANY boost, still building boost at around 6000RPM...

from other posts and info ive gathered can make full boost before 6000rpm

A 6000-8500rpm power band would not be very useful, interesting to drive a couple of times but I think it would get boring pretty quick. Interesting to find out how much head work you would need to get the most out of it though, and how it would influence the width of the powerband.
