im due for a 100k service now ive been quoted 850 buks supplied and installed the kits contains pretty much the same shit as the kudos 100k service kit so now my question do i have to get everything for my 100k service cos i could save a shit load of money just getting timing belt n water pump but want to know if not getting the other parts can be dangerous or risky

also if you have had ur 100k service done were did u get it done n how much did it cost

and one last question if u know any sweet hook ups that can do it for me cheaper than most mechanics that would help alote

srsly though, i should probably do my 100k soon. wonder if the fact that the sr runs a chain will effect the price...

I havnt done mine yet... EEEP. I have just been doing the regulars at Morpowa.

I changed the timing belt as soon as I bought it though, just cos you never know with KMS.

Havnt changed my waterpump, belts are fine... not sure about the Ider bearings.

Probably would benifit with new spark plugs.

I cant afford a major service right now... thinking I might do them ad hoc.

Am I risking anything major by dont doing it right now?... I knew the timing belt was so thats why that was done.

The timing belt is the biggie Penny, so you've done good.

Should prob change your oil, oil filter, coolant and plugs. While you're at it, check the waterpump for any 'rattle' or leaks. Maybe do that also anyway!

If your bogan BF won't touch your Skyline to help you with, I'm sure there's many lads who would help.

Give me a holler if you need help.

:(

My Stag has only done 60K, but I'm already accumulating new pump, belts etc.

Might even do a quick oil change and plug change before Kadina this weekend.

Cheers,

Yeah I change the oil and oil filters regulary, its had about 3 complete coolant changes due to my overheating issues and several radiators I went through. Haha

I am more skilled with cars then the BF, I was the one inspecting the cars he looked at! haha

I cant do the plugs on the skyline tho... I can on really old cars but not on this.

I havent seen any leaks or anything but ill double check this weekend.

Is it hard to change gearbox oil?

My dad was a mechanic back in the day but doesnt know the ins and outs of imports like this forum, and hes always to busy to help with it anyway. My partners dad is also a mechanic, not very handy when he lives in Port Lincoln!

I enjoy working on cars, I need a bit of instruction but I do like it.

Plugs are easy for those who have done it already. Sing out if you need help. After Kadina, I can assist if no one else can.

I take it your 34 is manual? This isn't too hard either as long as you can get the car off the ground enough. HAven't done one in a while, but there's normally two bolts (one for draining, another for filling).

Get ya GT-T and we'll have you swapping turbos in no time

The timing chain isn't part of the 100k service. I'm pretty sure that the scheduled service for the chain is 200k
