So I took out the old JVC Double DIN DVD player out to put my new Alpine x305 in. Fairly easy, factory loom was taken out and stereo wires plugged straight into the female connector (with spade connectors). cool cool all good.

Anyway go to fit the stereo part back into the center console, Look at my very scratched up center console trim and F####################CK!!!!!!!!!

There were scratches there when I bought the car, but after my install there is about double the amount!!!

So anyway does anybody have a fix for this??

Are the left and right parts hard to take out at all, they look like they would involve taking ALOT of dash out.

But I was thinking maybe taking them out, sanding them smooth and painting it a matching grey, or color coding them white.

Also I have seen some vinyl stickers stuff which looks like its more effort than it's worth.

ALSO, as you can see I'm missing the factory single DIN storage thingy. Does anybody know anywhere I can get anything that will fill that space and look good?

Pic of my destruction:

Elbow grease and maguires vynal cleaner. May get the marks of the colour off, but you will still have scratches on the vynal so some soft grade Sand paper will help smooth it out, very fine paper. Make sure you sand 90 degrees to the scratch, just want to take the scratch edges off you DO NOT WANT to sand it flat.

hey buddy,

i have the exact same problem only probably worse, i also got the f*kin gear leaver and handbrake! stupid me and stupid fkn skyline designs lol

my plan at the moment is when i get some time off i will pull those panels out, sand them back and respray, although im not sure how this will look(probably shit) although atleast the interior wont be all scratched up

If you try this, or try a vinyl recover or you do find a way to fix it. please pm me!!
