hai all,

since i can remember this has been happening, i think this noise is coming from the ecu, i have a stock ecu and at a sertain throttle this realy high pitch beep comes on, its not loud and its not that annoying but its there and worries me that its a warning beep, the noise disapears once i either put more throttle on or less, but at that sertain level it will beep untill you change throttle. i think it does it in any gear i havnt realy taken notes to it alot. has anyone had a similar issue?

cheers

please note, I THINK its coming from the ecu, it may very well be coming from elsewere, its one of those noises where you turn your head and the noise disapears lol

I don't think ECUs make noise ... as has been suggested, check your stereo setup .. I had new speakers with a crossover box installed recently and noticed the same sort of whine, apparently it was picking up engine/alternator noise. They just moved the crossover box a bit and it went away.

I get the same sound that you describe as well every now and then. Mine tends to happen at a certain engine load - I may be travelling in 4th at approx 60kmh, depress the throttle slightly due to a slight incline in the road and i get the noise. If I hold the throttle there and keep the engine loaded at that point, I can hold the noise. If I release the throttle or depress it further, obviously the load on the engine changes and the sound disappears. Kinda sounds a bit like faint feedback from speakers if you hold a microphone too close - but my stereo is never turned on.

My thoughts were that it is some sort of engine noise, possibly intake/turbo...

yea sounds alot like mine, i thought it was a boost leak or somethin, my sterio steup is pretty sound, so will have to check elsewear

Well there is that possiblity, but I have noticed that there is a really high pitch beeping type noise from the Greddy Profec B's.......

I have learnt to ignore it :D

its not actualy a beep persae, it’s a constant eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I would say that would be your best bet.

You can also see if there is a boost controlling solenoid near the turbo somewhere. If you have something like that then there is a fair chance that you have a electronic boost controller.

Something like this:

mine does the exact same thing, even with the stereo off

like others hav said, if im in 4th or 5th gear at 60km/h or so and hold the throttle in one spot it will start, soon as i just increase or decrease the throttle abit it goes away, but then comes bak.... its realy weird

i dnt think its intake cos it does it in high gear, low speed and the boost needle is way down in negative land...

hmmmmmmmmmmm
