Jetwreck's dump pipe has now been fitted, everything went to plan and there were no major hassles (just a stubborn bolt that took a sh!tload of patience and a few swear words to get undone).

Spoke to him after he had driven it for a little while and he stated that the spool up of the turbo was quicker than with the standard dump pipe (with cat removed).

I took some photo's for you, nothing professional like zeil20l's :D

Charlestone Exhaust are going to work on the jig's and get a price together for the higher flow dump pipes in the next few weeks, I'll get a call when it's all prepared and let you guy's know the price.

Nice.

Are you able to get a pic of the angle it of your front pipe from the side of your car?

Mine has a slight downward angle to my Legalis is a little lower than I would like.

If this dump makes the front pipe a little straighter, sign me up.

They were the main pictures I took, but it was pretty damn close if not spot on to the original length etc. of the stock dump pipe, we put them side by side and done a comparison.

It didn't adjust jetwreck's exhaust angle at all.

Err.. someone else making a dump now?

Err.. yep :P

Mainly to get a comparison between what local supplier's can provide, also gives us a comparison on prices too.

I'm going to get Charlestone Exhaust to do the whole exhaust once I've been high-flowed so it's worked out well.

haha craig you should really do up the banjo bolt for the oil line.

and there are studs already in the back of the turbo? or did you put them all there (my idea) ?

nah leave the banjo loose, its a good way to do rust proofing....sort of like a old Bentley :P will fix it soon.....just got to motivate myself :D

Studs are already there...we stuck in two new ones on though as my old ones had seized the bolts on.

P.S. It's not all oil....there a shit load of WB40 there as well.

Oh nice, i'm still up in the air on how to make this one..

prob end up doing dump to catback..

will see tomorrow what to do :D i think i'll get started on it then

I forgot to add that the one Charlestone Exhaust are working on is going go be a mild steel possibly sprayed black instead of a stainless steel (like the pics I posted up).

None of us seen the point of doing it to be pretty when you barely see any of the dump pipe, plus it saves a bit of money on the cost to go towards other mods :P

If anyone has had a turbo replaced in their M35 by any workshops in Sydney region can you let me know, I'm seeking a workshop to get an estimate from to fit a high-flow turbo and the new dump pipe.

You might as well, I'd also be inclined to either heat wrap or ceramic coat, to keep heat down.

Would definitely be keen once you have price

Ok so as for the Dump i am getting made up this week..

i'll have 9 in total for sale (which i am not making any money off only doing my friends shop a favor as he lends me his hoist tools etc all the time)

i gave you all the option on materials, stainless/mild, ceramic coated/uncoated can be black coat silver coat.

Heres an example of work that my friends have done k24a headers for honda coated in the silver ceramic finish.

Hi Andrew,

Has the price been firmed up yet?

Are you saying they will be ready on Monday?

Cheers

Hey Andy,

i'm going to give everyone options on what way to go. if anyone is still interested now that everyone seems to be making them :)

the price is still going to be around the 400-500 mark not including coating.

i'm hopefully picking up the stock dump tonite and will get a jig made up this week, so possibly we could have some done by monday.. but it will be pushing it since i wont be around on the weekend as the snow is calling.

as for me, i'm probably going to make mine dump/front pipe in one. and get it coated in the black ceramic coat. tho my welding wont be as neat as what westside can do.

LOL everyone is making them? not quiet, there are a few good exhaust joints, not everyone necessarily is close to the one you are using, everyone likes to be able to make choices :D

I have hold of the stock dump pipe and Craig is going to pick it up from me later this afternoon.

The 400-500 price sounds a little steep to me, if you are only referring to the small section of pipe or do you mean for the dump/front pipe all in one?

Well not everyone :P but there seems to be a few in the works and livo's job too. i'm not really fussed i know westside do quality work, and have alot of experience in the industry.

as i said the price isnt confirmed at all. i have just picked up the flanges today and they look great compared to livos garbage he supplied me.

As for not bieng close to here i was offering them delivered too.

will definatly know pricing in the next few days for these. as i almost have everything at the shop now to get started.

I don't think Liverpool are really interested as I never received a reply to the 2 PM's I sent to Eman. Bad luck to them, I am giving my money for a full exhaust (bar the dump) to Charleston Exhaust this Friday. :D

I refuse to spend money with people operate a business that are not capable of at least a courtesy to reply to messages. :P

Fortunately there are still some workshops that recognize what customer service is. (now I can get off my soap box)

Charlestone Exhaust will mainly be a supply and fit, will be good for those who want to go for a new turbo back exhaust system in 3" :P

I can tell you fitting the dump pipe yourself is fairly fiddly and a pain in the ass, Craig did his in 2 1/2 hours.

I'll get mine fitted at the same time a new high-flowed turbo goes in to make life easier, then it's off to Charlestone Exhaust for the remainder of the system to be fitted.

Yeah the guy was a bit funny there eh. telling me he was going to flood the market with his dumps..

Does one of you guys work for Charleston? its in Blacktown right?

Its fair enough they will be doing a supply and fit, i dont see a problem with that, what are they charging for a full 3 inch and dump?

cant be any worse than a gtr dump eh? it looks like you can actually get your hands in there!

i'm going to do the high flow also, gotta call my mate at turbologic soon to get it done. will prob go the bb turbo tho.

    • Nah no bearings, just slip fit.  Would be a reasonably challenging but not impossible job to modify it to run bearings but I'm hoping that's not necessary as I may have well built one myself if I end up spending hours modifying it!
    • Brumbys with good shells are bloody expensive, I've looked at 2 "cheaper" cars, and walked away from both,  plus after some research spare parts are fairly sparce I'm starting to think that I missed the boat on finding a clean one that is straight (ish) and without alot rust I'm starting to think about a old Hilux as panels and other parts are much more available as they sold tens of thousands of them I use to be indecisive but now I'm not sure
    • A Brumby would probably fit a big metal toolbox in the back... this is how it begins
    • Picked up a new OEM boot seal for the MX5 today as the old one got ripped a bit by me being a idiot by seeing if I could fit a large metal tool box in it, it didn't fit, and ripped the seal with the corner of the tool box I am still waiting on time to get the cams and new balancer installed, as well as the repairs to the boot Time will not be an issue soon though
