Hey mate ^^^ yeah all 4 of his cars were driven by him, my mum or myself..

dont get me wrong, we thrashed it as did he, 2000km a week mostly western QLD and NSW, not many quality roads out there...

but seriously the quality of my SS vs my GTR. I know what id rather have in 10 years time...

this only makes me think how much fun a current R35 GTR would be in 5-10 years (when i can probly afford it)!!

happy mods mate, thats a respectable time for a boat :) hehehe

the thing is though, people don't take into account the price difference. a gtr when new is over 100k, so you would expect it to be built better than a car that costs about half as much. it's like comparing a hyundai excel to a honda or toyota. people will tell you straight away that the hyundai is cheap shit. key word being cheap. if you want cheap you get cheap. if you want good quality you have to pay for it.

power wise an xr6t will walk all over skylines and has heaps of space what more could you want.yes the build quality is a bit on the cheap side but for the price and taking into consideration the warranty you get.it equals out .and consider the fuel economy for such a big car it fairs resonable well.i hate when ppl say that ford is an australian company and there for shit .who do you think owns the company range rover ?? ford ofcourse hense the same gear box in xr8s as rangerover sport...

hehe, the big boats need the power to get them going.

just being picky - but thats not exactly true. Its TORQUE that gets them going, and the XR6T has loads of it.

The power they have is comparatively pretty low when you factor in the size of the engine etc, but it more than makes up for it in torque.

Another side-effect of having so much torque on tap is wheelspin. Not as bad as say a v8 since you dont get the full torque until the turbo hits max boost and by that time you're already in motion...

Its just as well they're heavy otherwise you'd never get any traction at all. :)

You forget that that is the inflated Australian prices. The GTRs were around 3 million to 5 million yen when new in Japan, about $40k-70k AUD, the new GTR is around what $80k?

Is a Commodore worth $150k? Ford Phase III GTHO $750k? Hell no!
