Are you in Japan at the moment?

I will be in Nagoya tomorrow (In Osaka at the moment) if you are in Japan and want help finding the place, though with gauges it is generally cheaper to buy them from Australia, We have a huge range in stock from the BF series, Racer series to the Advanced gauges. Savings are made on over single purchases.

dont want to tread on any sponsors toes... but you should be able to destroy Aus prices if buying them in Japan. Even if you pay full RRP. Shops arent usually the best places for good deals, compare the price of Slides stuff and work it out for yourself.

Not that many shops in Japan always carry a full range of parts on the shelf, because most parts companies can ship out any part you want in a day or two at the most, so it's not worth them wasting the floor space or money.

The best way to do things is to print out a page from Defi's website before you go and circle the parts numbers of the ones you want.

If there are pictures on the page you can point at, that helps too, since the people in the shop will usually be worried about making sure you're ordering the parts you want.

After that, pay them in cash (which often gets a discount) and have the parts delivered to the hotel you're staying in. They should arrive in a couple of days.

don't bother with Autobacs or Superautobacs... That shop is basically the Japan version of Autobarn. They only sell at RRP, and if they have a sale, its not much of a discount.

I just came back from Crystal tonight. The staff there is very helpful and WOW the prices are great (way cheaper then RRP)! Prices there are inc Tax, and if you buy a few items, they will give you a discount. I have 3 days left in japan, and I've spent 90% of my japan budget :P

Thanks all......no I'm not in Japan at the moment but a short business trip might be coming up soon.

Obviously I know how much the stuff I need will cost to buy here in Oz, but figured that I may be able to save on postage etc.

Blitz....Is Crystal located near Nagoya? Do they have a website that you could point me to?

Cheers.

crystal is in chiba near tokyo which is no where near nagoya. best off using streeter to buy you some on-line. just like in aus, in japan the cheap deals are on-line. get streeter to buy the stuff you want (he can even do it before you leave) then have him send it to your hotel so you can carry it home so save that $50 on postage. :D

he's posted in this thread. send him a pm, tell him what you want and he will tell you the cheapest way to get it. he buys from yahoo and from parts wholesalers etc. you pay him a small fee and for that he will use his contacts to buy you the parts, send them to you and will save you some ¥.
