Watching Movies On The Ps3

hai guys

ive got a ps3 60GB aussie version

downloaded a movie and tried to watch it.

now the movie works fine except for the audio, its all distorted and bleepy and shit. movie is in MPEG btw

anyone know how to fix it?

i've had a similar issue with an .avi movie, no audio, that said i have played many .avi files that worked just fine, so it may have something to do with how the file was ripped/encoded

Are you playing them off a disc or over wlan?

If your playing them over wlan try using a program called TVersity that seemed to play a lot of things that windows server didnt.

the ones i watched i ran off a usb on the ps3 if that helps

I had to make sure my audio was in linear. On the main menu there is an audio section, i had to play around with that for a while and ensure my 5.1 was reentered and ensured that it was set to 'linear'.
