for some reason i cannot edit my above post...

adams one is not road worthy and he is going to sell it for parts.. i think. if your still interested let me know and ill talk to him

He will only be good for parts and

then only some parts, stuffed rear shocks, worn tyres, tacho doesn't

work, rear brake pads are gone, and I think thy're leaking fluid now

too, handbrake cable sticks, cracked injector casing, crack in

windscreen, broken rear quarter pane on drivers side rear door, so

pretty much only good for parts.

how cheap is cheap???

i may let mine go for the right price... like $2500 MINIMUM

add another $1000 for complete turbo conversion

lol I was thinking around the $1000 mark for one that is able to be a reliable daily driver... :P

I dont have any plans to mod it, just as a daily.

hahah..

famous last words!!!

seing as the R30 platform was the first development chassis for the atessa system, they are actually a very potent package!!

stock, a bit sad.... modded = FUN

there are normally a few on ebay at least once a month, not really in good nic though... the loval one adam is selling will be a good parts source... i just gotta wait until i move before considering purchasing it

but mine is 100% rwc, has a bit of rego left, nothing to spend really.

reason i want to sell is im 190cm and prefer a 2 door variant... either DR30/FJ20et or HR30/L20et

Look Ive found something something im pretty keen on, my R30 hatch is up for rego in a month or so...

I will let it go for $2000 with rims, all serviced ready to go.

All you need to do is get rego put on it (currenly VIC registered)

Even if you did find a $1000 doer upper, you will be spending $1600 getting it ready for rego etc.

I spent $1600 just over a year ago, getting the brakes done, exhaust all sorted, timing/tuning/gas analysis stuff... all at NISSCO in bayswater (a reputable rally/datsun specialist in melb)

i need parts from a r30!

if u could get that adam guy to contact me via email [email protected] that would be great

i dont really know much about cars and i crashed my 1985 mr30 into a gutter and the back wheel is completely bent in doez any1 have ne advice?

i let adam know this morning.. i will post up his reply

EDIT:

adam wants to get rid of the car this weekend. apparently some one is after the gearbox. if anyone who wants anything out of his DR30 can send me their info by PM ill pass it onto adam

Hi all

The Adam mentioned above is me, and I am looking to sell the old R30 Ti. I have been speaking with MAG86 about the possibility of a transaction and he's shown some interest. The car was loaned to an employee of my mothers for a period of timje and has some mechanical issues, as a result of his lack of care. IMO the car is past the point of cost effective repair as some bigger dollar items are needed, like new rear struts, 4 tyres, new right rear door quarter pane, new rear pads and a full bleed, handbrake cables are sticky due to worn dust caps (these can be freed by soaking in kerosene or diesel and then lubricting well with a penetrating lubricatant or adhesive grease). the car has few other issues, that Im happy to disclose, but has many good parts to donate to other better condition vehicles.

I will not be parting out the vehicle myself, and if by chance i do feel inclined, i would only go as far as a rolling shell so its easy to get to the wreckers.

Regards

All, My DR30 is sold as of today it has become someones new parts pony. It was a most interesting drive to their house as whilst the car has sat for a while the brakes have f*@ked themselves... 80 to 0 braking distances = still calculating. lol

the brakes have pissed themselves all over the garage floor! at least it will keep the cockroackes at bay for a bit

and they are truly FFFFAAAARRRRKEKEEDDD, only real way to slow down is knock it into reverse and feather the clutch before the house gets flattened

MAG86 you were warned, but besides the brakes you should find it a good resource of parts. Speaking of parts, I used to know where to get them from the wreckers in Canberra and QBN but lately they all seem to have been scrapped. Good luck with the works, maybe catch you at JDM fest on saturday.

Ill keep an eye out for any other DR30's that might be up for sale.

    • And at over $2 per litre I'm starting to consider setting up a corn mash still and converting over to alcohol and running mine on it !  Up side of that is it all doesn't have to go into the car ! Win win !
    • H2 (for cars) will never happen. It's not reasonable for any number of reasons. It's also not reasonable for almost all of the industrial uses that the fanbois say that it will be used for, again for a large number of reasons. There are some cases where it will be good. But, even those will be massively hampered by the economics. The only way that H2 can be economic is if we somehow manage to get from where we are to the other side of the economic-valley-of-death in which no-one can operate. You need there to be sufficient renewable generated electricity to be available so that it is effectively free. Once you are there, you can do whatever the hell you want and hang the efficiency. But until you get there, the ever diminishing value of electricity makes it harder and harder to encourage businesses to build the new generation capacity, and they will simply stop investing in generation projects. (I kinda think there needs to be just government money spent on building the required capacity in a non-commercial way, similar to how the first fossil fueled grids were built, as national-government owned utilities. And probably some nuclear in there to start. But this all should have started 10-15 years ago to avoid the chasm of death that we face right now). Synth fuels will be much more likely, but will only occur is there is at least some renewable H2 production, because you need H2 to do it. And you need stacks of free (or at least extraordinarily cheap) energy because assembling molecules back into fuels is exactly the opposite process to burning the fuel, and the reason we burn fuels is because there is so much energy squeezed into each molecule. So you're somewhat subject to the same economic valley of death problem as above anyway. That is unless people are willing to pay the current equivalent of $5 or $6 per litre of petrol-ish liquid fuels. Can you imagine it? The squealing at $2 now is bad enough.
    • This is so cool. Get a dashcam that records audio and hopefully you'll catch it.  Maybe there's a brand or some kind of markings on the back ? Are the pics hand drawn? I love it so much.
    • Hahaha yep, point(s) taken. I just like seeing different things and an EV in an R32 is pretty different. I'm not on the EV band wagon, I'm waiting for synthetic fuels or hydrogen personally.
