Just out of curiosity Adam, what are the shocks and springs that you have in the car now and does it handle like a boat or you just want to improve it? My car actually handles a lot better than my 32 GTR did although it does have non-adjustable Nismo coil-overs... not sure how good they are though? Would be interested in seeing how well it handles after you set it up.

in what way is it better than the 32R and what did it have done?

Yeah I can relate to that, I have had R32 GTST sedan and a B4 Legacy in the past both with minor suspension improvements and I reckon the stag is at least on par if not better. I think it might have something to do with the weight, once you drop the stag down a bit and as long as you have a reasonable setup to control the roll of the car the stag just squats down on the road and handles like it is on rails. The only comment I would make is it does take a bit of time to get used to driving it fast as I think the driving style is somewhat different, I certainly wouldn't call it chuckable like a 180 or rx7 or something small like that. But on fast open roads I reckon the stag would be alot more stable than a little 180, it certainly would through highspeed bumps.

I've just put Bilsteins in my Stagea, got them through Car Torque here in Adelaide for a very good price, also did swaybars, still waiting on the rear to come in. Dave at Car Torque is getting some sway bars made up for the rear of the Stagea at the moment, people use the whiteline ones but the links don't sit strait and sometimes the bars don't bolt on at all. That's the problem I had.

Adam, have a read through the Stagea Suspension thread, there is a lot there. Just a hint, when you find anything relavent, copy and paste it to word or something, I must have read that thread 4 times looking for information.

My GTR had (dare I say it!) ISC coil-overs 8kg rear and 6kg front from memory but it did handle well albeit rough as hell! I find the Stag easier to punt quickly than the GTR because it's a little less tail happy on throttle as TypeS said ^^^^^ it feels like it's on rails. My Stag does seem to be a lot lower than most others (including other 260's), maybe that's got something to do with it?

mines very boaty... the stock shocks r just shagged. there bouncy, n just gone! lol... ben (grim 32) said he did his inthe white 260, and he took the springs out n turned it upside down and the shock with no reisitance went strait into it self :S.... not to mention the ghetto crab walk it does :D

You guys have put me off of getting a 32GTR :S then again a torque split controller in a 32GTR and the fact it is a shitload quicker would make up for it?

Might end up keeping my stag til i can get a 260RS.... can't bring myself to buy an evo i don't think... too FOBy :P

I have to disagree.

My stagea has a few sus mods (nismo struts n springs, adjustable arms front n rear etc) and a good wheel alignment and yeah it does handle well, very good mid corner grip, good balance etc, but has not got the turn in of the other cars mentioned, and most of the feeling of handling i think comes down to the weight and long wheel base, it feels more planted becasue of this.

My R34 sedan would easily out handle it, and it only has Nismo coilovers, my old SR powered R34 sedan would out handle them both again, my 180 that i had had awesome turn in and good balance under brakes but was very nervous every where else.

I drove my mates R32 GTR that had basic sus mods and it definatley would out handle the stagea, excellent turn in, great grip and felt awesomely planted through the corner, and having less weight it would change direction and react beter and faster then the stagea.

I have been through a lot of setups in my car, and driven many Stagea's with others.

I had Tein coil overs, every suspension arm was Ikeya Formula adjustable, and front and rear Nismo sway bars.

My friend had A'PEXi N1's, and that was it. It smashed my car to pieces. By the time he then added Nismo sway bars, then all adj arms, you had no idea you were hauling around in a near 2 tonne beast.

It is expensive, but if you REALLY want it to handle, in order:

A'PEXi N1 coilovers

Nismo Sway Bars*

Solid Radius arm rods*

Adj Rear Arms (all)*

Locked Sub Frame*

* = what I have. I run some BC's which are actually pretty good. I am just saving for some A'PEXi's as they are like $4k new....

    • I ❤️ Matty I would like to thank Matty for going out his way in securing me a OEM NC detachable hard top for the NC Matty, your worth your weight in gold, and I cannot say how much I really appreciate your outstanding help I'll get it colour matched once I pick it up sometime in Dec-Jan 😁
    • We have some genuine Japanese legally decommissioned car number plates now in stock 🙂 Add some legitimately obtained JDM style to your Skyline or other Japanese model, or simply as a garage/man cave decoration! About the 40mm hole: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport in Japan recognised the popularity of keeping decommissioned plates among car enthusiasts and came up with a method to "destroy" (or render them unusable for street use) while still retaining their collectable/usable value for display etc.  We have 40mm hole covers available to cover the hole nicely with a Sakura motif, which are also available in white in (very!) limited quantities, however they frequently sell out. Please let me know if you're wanting one or more of these and I'll check availability. The Sakura motif covers are more common. https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set-su-7515 https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-400mm-hole-cover *Please note that we can't obtain particular number or area name (eg: "Gunma 500 Fu ・86") if requested. All plates are provided as they become available after decommissioning.
    • Ah, fair enough. For the IAT, I'm using a legit GM sensor that was used on the car prior to my current build. I'll get another wideband and IAT ordered and follow up when they show up. Thanks for the help.
    • You shouldn't need to massively fatten up the mixtures for cold conditions. For one thing - 0°C is not that cold. For another, the Haltech will be using the IAT sensor to tell it how dense the air air, and calculate the correct amount of fuelling. Then the cold start enrichment is added as a % on top of that, so it should scale with the main fuelling. You might also doubt the IAT sensor at this time. You're not using one from an RB26 are you? Using a nice Bosch sensor or similar? Happens. Some wideband units take great pleasure in killing their sensors. Put another wideband in the tailpipe and compare. Or just swap the sensor to a brand new one and see.
    • Oh, my misunderstand. When the car was running, it sounded ok, but if I gave it any gas it wanted to die but caught itself afterwards. It's very different from how it was a couple months ago when it was warmer outside. The logs show that the AFRs are better during, what I assume, is warmup enrichment. Because it's cold, and air is more dense, should I work on the enrichment bit?
