hope it all goes well for you dude

drive safely please :P

why not get a manual magna or vrx, LOL. they will get you into the 130kw at the wheels range with just exhaust, and will run mid to high 14 second 1/4's. only downside is that they don't really suit boy racers cause they aren't a fully sick skyline and are fwd. they don't torque steer much at all, are cheap to insure and best of all they don't really attract the boys in blue or idiots wanting to race you.

I second that, I had a 3rd gen Magna as my first car. 3L v6 manual. With a full cat back system it sounded qutie nice, and with decent shocks and springs it could take corners OK as well. Plus FWD made it almost idiot proof to drive....I say almost because it was written off by my idiot mate one night hehe.

After that I got my GTS-T.

One thing I realised when I got the skyline was how pointless modding NA is. Its expensive for such little gains. Sure modding turbo's isn't cheap but at least you get some real gains from it. I advise keeping the car until your off your P's, all the while saving for a GTR.

Unless you put stupidly big wheels, shopping trolley wings and ralliart stickers on it... like I've seen on some Magnas lol

Lol the only reason i want a skyline is because ive always wanted one since i was little. Not because of stupid influences like the Fast and the furious but because my dad had one when i lived with him in Japan when i was 5 it just looked and sounded so cool and since then ive always wanted one. And if people want to race me they can do what they want coz i can just ignore them :P

im still contemplating what to do with my NA when I'm off P's.

Depending on how much it'll cost (or whether I'm sick of the R34 by then and get a 350z or something instead), I'll go the rb25de+t option.

Other option is dirty big v8 :P

but in regards to trying to make big power out of the NA, without resorting to forced induction = works out to be a waste of $$.

R34 as in GTR? or GTT? lol Z33 would be good as but getting good power will need a fair amount of money.

not V8 lol unless its the 3UZ-FE

but i agree with you big power with NA is hard

i rekon the simplest rule-of-thumb is:

three words, FAST RELIABLE CHEAP, choose two because you'll neva get all three.

also consider what you want to do with the car REALISTICALLY. power doesnt have to be the focus for performace. any car can speed and any driver can loose their licence (i stupidly did). if your keping a car on the streets there isn't any real need for mods other than bolt-on's. the best mods you could do with any car is the handling. not just coilovers but sway-bars, bushes, linkages and geometry. add to that a decent set of treads and your going to need your brakes more than your accelerator. if i had words of wisdom they would be: read, read & read... the more reading you do, the more you learn. get dirty with mates under their cars and drive their cars to compare & learn all you can . then make your own evaluations as per what you liked most. not one car is ever the same.

Lower centre of gravity due to the block being shorter.

You can diss pushrods all you like, but power is power and the GM LS engines can make a buttload of it.

They fail especially the older generation LS engines, they are about as technological as a dinosaur. Let's get excited over making big power from a 1,000,000 litre v8!

VH45DE and 1UZFE > LS crap from the same era

LOL

As far as im concerned if pushrods are good enough for 6sec NA drag cars....well yeah

Show me a 6 sec NA LS1, LS2 or even LS3
