I didn't know that they came standard or an option on the M35's - I know the C34's never had them

the only thing I heard about cruise control on the M35 was that Chris Rogers was installing a aftermarket system in a M35 and needed a M35 to be a test mule

I have factory cruise and the radar sits just under the front grill. It works really well even when you are following a car and it slows down in front to a stop. The computer puts my brakes on and nearly stops the car. The only thing i hate about the inteligence is that if a car pulls in front of you your car slows down and it takes a while to pick up again depending on the distance set

Nagoya Motors had a blue RS with factory cruise....

Would have been perfect if it had been fitted on my AR-X. And because of my Momo steering wheel, I cannot use Chris' solution.. Buttons won't fit...

Need cruise... if only to improve the fuel consumption..

A mate of mine is about to buy an ARX with Cruise along with just about every other conceivable option.

Will be quite cool to play with it.

It will be interesting to see how it keeps the car at highway speed as I find that the car can be a little surgy on cruise.

When you look at the grill the radar is in the centre of the grill in shield like shape getting narrow at the bottom and is a dark colour. The Nissan badge sits on top of the radar pannel.

I have seen a few of them here but they are rare.

After doing s few stints on country highways, I decided that cruise is a good thing to have, especially when my good old 350 had cruise and it was the best device to use compared to other cars i've tried. So I take it that the Stag cruise should be cool to use with that added radar at the front to sense cars ahead.

Yes I know it doesnt look too good but shit is it useful to have sometimes.

Andy, when is your mate getting his Stag? I wouldnt mind checking out his car and all the options as I'm going to buy another one from Japan asap.

eugene the factory cruise cant be installed onto one that didnt get it from factory. which sucks.........

but i agree it would be awesome to have :D

Hey Iain yes I know you cant install it, that's why I mentioned that i'm going to look for another car in Japan and sell my one.

easy. fly me down hand $900 + plane ticekt and you'll have OEM style cruise that DOES NOT surge.

the mule car I did finalised the cruise cal for my unit and it works a treat.

you didn't mention where you were but if its in a major city there's a good chance I can send you to a shop and get it fitted.

stuff getting a OEM car with it - waste of money when you have a car already that runs fine.

Yo Chris thanks for the offer. Can u give me more info on it. The aftermarket kits I've seen around I'm not too impressed with, but if yours is good and works better, I will take you up on it. I've got a lot of time off work so can come around to you down south( I think that's where you were last time here in syd)

find the user MILLOS on here. he had one doen by me yesterday. same setup that will go into yours.

in short its a driveby wire unit spec'd by me to work with these cars. it uses the OEM V35 buttons to get the controls onthe wheel and from there looks stock.

feel wise you wont notice it kick in and it works like any other cruise int hat respect.

to date I haev done 30+ of them without hassle..

if you want real feedback on them pop a question up inthe V35 area for the NEW DBW version of cruise that I do. the last one I did was VAC based and worked well but took too much stuffing around to fit properly.

as i said I'm heading down that way debug a car in blacktown so Ican do yours then in fact I can probably do it onthe back half of that day if youare keen.

I think he will get it in about a week. Still the be confirmed but see if we can help a show once received.

Cheers

Andy

    • Excuse me, but 2) does apply 1) Would also apply if you consider how much is spent in the alternatives. Also there's the option of 3), buy one pre-built that you can put your family in (it's me, it's my car)   That said, I went on a ~500km drive the other day. I didn't use anything more adventurous than 3rd/4th gear at about ~3000RPM and 50% throttle and I was going as fast as anyone has any sense doing on a public road, with enough grip to the point where I didn't want to go any faster. I was obviously under the limit of the current car etc etc. MX5 with 2.5 N/A to achieve the same speed would be more fun for any road scenario. Maybe consider cams. I wouldn't boost it. The use case is just not there and it won't actually make the car more enjoyable unless you really do plan on wringing gears from 1st to 3rd (at least) at 100% WOT on a public road to 150+kmh.
    • Great if: 1. You had all of the money for everything else that is required  2. Lived in a country where you could actually do this and drive it legally on the road Sadly, neither applies to me As for the turbo, I am having second thoughts, mainly for engineering/registration legality reasons and insurance  Not saying I've finished doing stupid things that I probably should do to the MX5, but boost, and V8 engine swaps isn't on the cards Strange, but true
    • I like this page, better than that silly turbo kit   https://v8roadsters.com/product-category/engine-conversions/engine-conversion-lsx/engine-conversion-lsx-nc/
    • That would be my Shoei helmet
    • Yes shipping here can be a pain, was about to purchase timing belt replacement kit, but it tends to get expensive due to shipping (and customs if importing from non-EU which the UK now falls under).
