G'day,

Is there anyone on the Sunshine Coast who would be willing to let me have a look in the back of their Stagea? I'm possibly interested in a ~2000 RS4 but I am having trouble visualising the boot and I am only going to get one if I can fit dual dog enclosures in the back (I don't need rear seats) - a cargo barrier won't be suitable

At this stage it's only a "maybe" as I'm considering utes as well but Stageas... Well, who wouldn't want one?

So possibly I wont need to bother you, but possibly it would be handy!

How big are your dogs? Just to give you a rough idea about how much space there is in the rear. With the seats folded forwards a queen air matress fits in the back (inflated, duh) It molds around the strut towers and fits pretty much perfectly.

A 45kg German Shepherd and a small Husky (20kg). The problem dog is the GSD, as he is a working dog (security) and gets hyped up very easy and starts destroying things so he needs to be in a fully enclosed metal enclosure which is why my Falcon Sedan is not suitable. The husky just goes to where your feet go and happily sits there being lazy.

Going by those sizes, I think a Stagea will suffice. I can get someone to design a cage that fits in with the seats down and is removable so that way I can use my back seats if I really want to :D

It is just over 36", 920mm, between the wheel arches. For that reason alone I bought mine.

Ohhh, that's a handy measurement. Based on that, I can get a cage constructed without the seats down to secure the GSD, then the Sibe can just sit in the front/back in the leg well or whatever it's called.

Now it's time to convince myself this is more practical than getting a ute :)

Can't edit my post but in my searches I came across a 2003 M35 for 16k, that seems a bit less than what most are going for?

Also a 2001 RS4 which seems to be a bit lower than average:

Are these cars priced lower than average or has everyone else suddenly jacked their prices up as I started looking? Both of those are through the same dealer.
