Pete demonstrated exceptional driving skill in a competition filled with professional drivers ( Steve Burke and David Cuffe) and extraordinary Cars, Gemballa Porsche, race spec Evo, Gt-3's and a top R34 GTR with incredible acceleration.

Watching pete do a motorkhana that was designed for clubmans or 4wd rally cars and getting a second place or his EXTREME late braking at the last turn at Wakefield were some of the highlights of this weekends Dutton.

AND it all goes to prove, Yes beer not only makes you better looking,...but drive faster.

To a pair of nice guys... Congrats on a great weekend, Club members you can be proud of these guys.

(Convince Duncan to put up a pic of his SUPER TYRES after the event)

To every one else, just save $20 a week to enter next years event.

you the man dom,

i think he was some 70 km/h faster than us, that would have been some ride, i was crapping myself at the braking marker doing 70 ks less. i love it

i think the club should attempt to get about 5 or 6 cars down there next year then we can have some seriouse fun....

ill be there for sure

pete

Results are up at:

Duncan and Pete scored 10th outright. A fantastic effort in the GTS25-t up against all kinds of Porsches and M3s etc. and drivers like James Dutton and Warren Luff.

Dominic took 11th outright in the only GT-R in the field. Next year I think the competition will be tougher when more people figure out what a bargain the Skylines are performance wise.

:uh-huh:

lol, Dominic became the only GTR when the CRD R34 blew its motor up. I guess they were missing Sump Baffles :bahaha:

But you're right, two skylines entered, we beat 6, and got beaten by 5 porkers, including some real monsters - and given the attitude from some of them, wasn't that sweet :(

Skylines have amazing performance for the price :D

Yep, those photos are thanks to two of our great sponsors on the weekend.

Thanks to Jason from Drift King Photos (Southo on these forums) who was also the official photographer on the weekend.

Thanks also to Powerplay who lent us the exhaust for the weekend, we asked for the nastiest, noisiest exhaust they had, this one really delivered. Didn't seem to make much mopre power, but you could hear us coming from miles off :) Sorry TWS, its going back to Powerplay, and Bonkers already has his eye on buying it....

Casting my un-trained eye over these results leads me to the conclusion that :

A) A job well done by all - and heaps of fun had by all

B) You guys should drive more in the rain :) (ie Need more practice on the wet circuits)

BTW, refer to events section for details on wet skid pan training

:shake:

:(

You are spot on B-man

Apart from lack of skill in the wet..... they re55s we are using were excellent in the dry, but terrible in the wet. What grooves there were, were very shallow and wore very quickly.

It is interesting that the guys in the Z came 7th outright on the back of excellent performance in the wet tracks. Their results on the dry tracks were mid field but there were about 40% wet events.

Goes to show that choosing the right tyres for the mix of events is cruical. It is likely that we would look at wet "r" tyres next time out (and take a gtr for traction....)
