Tps Voltages

hey guys

hooked the multimetre up to the tps just to check all is ok

i got .45v closed which i'm pretty sure is spot in

but when i pulled the throttle cable to WOT i only got about 3.5v

car is an r32 gtst

also collant resistance was about .4 kOhms at nearly opperating temp, is this right?

can anyone tell me the most that the voltage can read on a tps?

someone must know

Bringing back an old thread but didn't want to start a new one.

I'm getting the same thing, 0.5V when closed and 3.5V on WOT. What's the go with this, is this correct? I'm measuring it with the car on ignition and not actually running if that makes a difference, but electrically I don't see why it would. Comments?

My 32 GTR is 0.44 volts closed, 3.x volts WOT. Every car's TPS voltage will differ, it's normal.

Cheers. I triple checked and tested everything and it seems to be correct at 3.2ish volts on WOT.

the resistor on the throttle position sensor had a wider degree of movement, than the throttle they are connected to. Throttles all turn 90 degress, but most variable resistors turn 110 degrees or even a little more, so the full range of voltage can go from 0 or slightly above, to only 3.5 volts. The ecu "learns" what the full range of voltage is for the TPS thru driving. It calibrates itself.

when i was tuning my mates 33 his tps voltage went all the way up to 4.1v

well what should an r33 gtst tps voltage me at wot. and what difference would it make from one car have 5v at wot compared to one that us say,, 4.2v
