Wtf? Parking Fine Without A Ticket Inspector?

I just got an infringement notice in the mail. It says my car was photographed parked in a bus zone a few weeks ago. WTF? I haven't parked illegally for years. I hate paying parking fines. I don't even remember the event happening. I must have stopped there to drop someone off or something.

The first time in my life I got a parking ticket in the mail without meeting an inspector. Do the bastard council workers stake out the bus zones with their telephoto cameras and snap whoever stops there for a second?

Has this happened to anyone else?

its probably their new technology

take a photo of your car

if its a non permitted zone

-> fine

(A) if its parked too long

-> fine

if its not parked too long, wait, goto (A)

fairly simple stuff really

write back to them (politely - keep your cool) and ask for a photo evidence.

I've detailed a bit how one of the new systems works, and the other person actually was snapped by a camera (operated by a person in a car)
