Which Wire Goes To Black/yellow From Power Steering Solenoid In R32 Gtr?

Recommended Posts

Looking at the solenoid from the rear of the car, facing forward. Easy to see if you lie down with your head just behind right front wheel and look 45deg forward under car. Power steering solenoid has 2 wires coming out of it (side by side) going to a connector attached to a HICAS line mount, then joins the loom under the plenum.

Wiring diagram has 1 black, 1 black/yellow.

My connector has the correct wires going to the loom.

P/S solenoid has 2 black wires. Great, now I don't know which is which.

Can anyone tell me which goes to the black/yellow wire? Left or right?

Done heaps of searching this morning and found zilch.

Thanks,

slip.

it either doesn't matter or I was lucky >_< I had the plug rip off and had to re-wire it, I did so just picking a random wire and tested it by turning the wheel, it worked fine.....

lol can't argue with success. assuming 1 is power 1 is earth and its a switch/solenoid then the wires are probably interchangeable. if not i might have just been lucky.

Looks like you're right guys, apparently many solenoids come unmarked or with the same colour wires coming off because in basic plunger type solenoids the polarity does not matter. Just an electromagnet, when polarity is reversed it still operates in the same direction.

Thanks guys.
