My excedy 9 puck cushioned clutch is dead. It lasted about 12 months. 8 of those months was with a mild 260rwhp the rest was 390rwhp. My car is a daily driver and i travel in a fair bit of peak hour traffic on the weekdays which is not what hd clutch's are designed for. I made it clear what the car would go through and the power i would like it to handle 300rwkw.

I dont want to spend over a grand for a clutch but i want it to last more then a shitty 12 months. Is anyone on similar power that has had there clutch last similar conditions. I wouldnt say i am hard on the clutch either it has been treated fairly well.

Excedy hyper single. Pricey but wicked. Have had mine for 4 years and has copped all types of abuse and tons of city driving.

Also every man and his dog on this forum swear by Jim Berry (i've never used him but have his number on standby in case i ever need to).

according to nengun that excedy hyper single is rated to 400hp, i assume that is at engine too so that wouldnt last. What power you running?

Shit never knew they were only rated at that i'll have to have a look for myself.

I had it installed prior to me decieding to power up and also due to failure of the stock clutch after i first upped my boost. Whoops.

Dont be too fooled by the power rating on a clutch as they are testing it at extremes and rating it to a safe limit for hard use... warrenty crap!

If your not doing high RPM launches or dropping the clutch on gear changes then i dont think you will need to over power the clutch... i am running over the reccomended limit on the stock clutch 300rwhp and never once had it slip and i have had that power for over 2 years now... and i am pretty hard on my car and launches... but if i took it on a track i bet it would heat up and be destroyed in one day.

Decide how your going to drive and then decide on clutch dont just look at power as most will hold the power once engaged..

I was in the same boat, thinking I had stock clutch and "wow omg it's lasting strangely long"... turns out there was a Nismo organic clutch and a Nismo chromolly flywheel in there.

Well i just had a 40 minute conversation with Jim Berry. I remember speaking to him a year ago about the same thing. It was even more torturous the second time. A man full of knowledge and useful answers to my questions but fark i basically had to beg him to get off the phone.

I am sold though

either full monty organic or carbotic. $1050

And yes to Nismogtt you are right on the money
