Best Way To Cut Silicone Hose?

Hi People,

Can somebody guide me through the best way to cut silicone hose without it looking all jagged and crappy.

what size dave?

2.5"-4" i use a band saw

1" and below those funky hose cutters from pep's etc

band saw eh. Have you got a portable one....hehe

you can always use the masking tape trick - wrap the tape around the tube, trying to keep it square. then cut along the edge of the tape with a very sharp blade.

if the tape lines up and you dont saw through it, it should be a nice clean cut.

Yeh I had that in mind or maybe try the tape and fine hacksaw blade in a mitre??

When you use your band saw does the end cut clean or look a little frayed?

a little fraying happened, but just clean it up with a blade.

not sure if the hacksaw would work as its back and forward cutting motion.

the trick i use is put the silicon on the pipe urs going on.... feed it on 3inchs which is generally a good joiner length... press firm to feel the pipe inside the silicon and insert a sharp stanley knife and just use the pipe and a guide....

it will give u a clean, square edge every time....

best in my opinion without big tools
