2 x Fuel Pumps.

OK..

I want to increase my fuel flow and i was thinking of having 2 x stock fuel pumps (as they are cheap) running side by side, what do you think, like twin turbo, im sure i can make it work, what sort of flow would you expect from it, is it worth it... has anyone done it?

Hmm, I think the more sensible approach is to have the stock pump feed a surge tank, then use an BOSCH 910 feed the fuel rail. It works well for me:D

sure, i mean thats good, but what if you have only got 2 fuel pumps and no surge tank, i mean would it have a positive affect? or more likely to make a problem?

Hi jtech, in the old GTR race car we ran a standard GTST in tank pump to lift to the surge tank and then 2 GTR pumps to the fuel rail. We ran separate pipes from the 2 pumps and took the overflow for the fuel pressure regulator from the middle of the rail. Worked fine.

You have to be careful with electrical load though. The standard wiring won't handle it, so you have to use a relay to run the pumps. We switch on/off the relay via the standard wiring and run separate power and earth wiring supplying the relay from the battery (which is conveniently in the boot).
