don't drive suspended , do you want your freedom or to be behind some bars for a few months with a bunch of dudes waiting for you to drop the soap .

im almost in the same boat , my dad got made redundant and my mum doesn't earn enough to keep the family afloat for 6 months but there is no way in f**k id considering driving unlicensed.

if you haven't done anything wrong get a good lawyer and fight it to the end

cant fight it..building a house so i cant afford to...

i had 1300 in lawyer fees, and 1600 in fees for the cops side coz i lost the case...

cant do shit :)

anything is better then a dick

the way i see it is they had sufficient evidence to say you were speeding.... even if you could appeal it probably wouldn't make a difference... they're not gonna go out of they're way to make crap up to punish random people.... besides no ones gonna admit they fkd up...

if you seriously didn't commit the offence appeal and take it to trial with a proper solicitor not some make believe clerk of the court

ring

Allan Reeves - i have personally used his service and got 147kph in a 100 zone dropped to 90 in a 80

>>A K Reeves and Associates<<

it will cost you now but when you win the state will have to pay your costs, and no more silly talk about driving disqualified

<br />Hi everyone...<br /><br />like the topic states I NEED HELP, more like advice..<br />heres the scenario:<br /><br />on the 18/10/08 i was pulled over by a cop for "speeding"<br />long story short, i didnt commit the offence and have spent the last 7months trying to prove<br />i wasnt speeding..ive had witnesses, letters to canberra, court appearances etc...<br />in conclusion, i was told ive lost my license for a year.<br />i cant appeal coz ive lost my license before (for actions on my behalf), and appealed for it back and got it.<br /><br />the question i have is this:<br />DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES ARE FOR DRIVING WITH A DISQUALIFIED LICENCE?<br /><br />now, i know how supid the above option is but this is my dilemma...<br />I HAVE TO DRIVE!!<br /><br />im the single income owner for a home im building....i live 30mins drive away from work, and public transport would include a 30minute walk, two buses, a train and a further 15min walk....<br />i work arvos/nught shifts so public transport is impossible..<br /><br />il repeat, i know how stupid it is to drive disqualified but if it comes to driving or losing my house, im gunna drive..<br />im not a hoon..i lost my license for no reason what so ever and it sucks...<br /><br />so yeh DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES FOR A FIRST OFFENCE?<br />any help/advice will be GREATLY appreciated!!!<br /> <img sri cant appeal coz ive lost my license before (for actions on my behalf), and appealed for it back and got it.<c="http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /><br />

YOU SAY:

i cant appeal coz ive lost my license before (for actions on my behalf), and appealed for it back and got it.<

Who told you that you can't appeal? Even without reading the ACT legislation I can say with 99.999% certainty no State or Territory disqualifies an appeal action just because another unrelated prosecution was overturned on appeal. Every civil or criminal matter is dealt with as a NEW matter, prev history only kicks in for sentencing determination.

GET YOURSELF SOME PROPER LEGAL ADVICE - pronto

hmmm i thought it would be pretty strict down here...

yeh i got f**ked over big time....driving down port wakefield road, cop pulled me over sayin i was doin 107 in a 60. port wakefield isnt even a 60km speed limit...so god knows why i got pulled over...but yeh...

so even for a first offence its jail time?

70km speed limit...was doin 70 MAX...even had a wanker in a soarer overtake me to get in front.

i had that much evidence, but it didnt make a difference..they wer gunna suspend me for 15months but lawyer got it to 12...

12 more than i wanted

Which one is it? I'm confused by your story. I'm more likely to believe that you did 107 in a 70 zone ... as that is around the time all the road works were going on, and hardly anyone obeyed the limit. You just got caught is all. Cop it on the chin.

on a side note...

does anyone know someone who has driven with a disqualified license and got away with it..

i know of one person but he sold his car, got a run around car registered in his gf's name etc etc...

i dont really wanna sell my 33, but i gotta put my job first coz that keeps a roof over my head...

so transport via me driving is needed :)

They why risk being thrown in jail? Find an alternative means, other than driving unlicensed!

I am with Mr Gray on the re-appeal mate dont think that they can just overturn an appeal because of another incident......take the advice of most of the people on here mate and do not drive unlicensed....for example what if you ended up rear ending a Ferrari or Lambo......since your disqualified driver means that insurance of any form will not cover you and what if you wrote off that Ferrari or Lambo.....by the time you finish paying for it mate you could have bought one for yourself and got laid more often :)

Use steve's advice since he has used those lawyers before and got a decent result out of them mate i would suggest that you speak with them ASAP.....i can understand your situation but by no means you should be driving if you have been disqualified.....how about getting someone that you know ie mate or family members or relatives to drop you and pick you from work and you reimburse them with whatever for their inconvenience

Or as others have said go ahead and fork out a bit more $$ and get a 50cc scooter or one of those bike kits that at least do 60 or so kmph

Bottom line dont drive disqualified or be prepared to go into the slammer mate

My solicter would of got it dropped but i was.nt prepared to go to trial as i knew i was 10kph over the limit, but Allan got a specialist to prove the radar gun was inaccurate and wasn't even calibrated properly in the first place

Not once did i have to attend court you pay big money so they appear for you means no lost time off work

All up it went on for 18months and cost me $1500 that would of been there cost if i took it to trial, and that cost included the specialists fee, i paid the whole lot at 100 or 50 a week and by the time it went to court most of his fee's haf been paid

get a kit of ebay for a motorised bike. Dont need a licence (I dont think) and can do 60km/hr.

Would try the above option.

Or try and sus a lift to work from someone going in the same direction...

Get a different job?

I know 1 person that has driven 30years without license, been caught twice. We worked it out it was cheaper for her to pay the fines than actually pay for a license. But then she’s a retard and never really drove that much.

As I mentioned before on here I was talking to a tool who got caught drink driving then got caught drink driving while suspended for it and im pretty sure he didn’t go to jail. Just extended suspension huge fine etc.

Not really sensible options Id recommend anyways. Especially after talking about it online on a forum cops frequent.

Come on kid get some brains and get another job public transport is available for. Consider moving if its not, move near train line get job in city. We aint in a 3rd world country here, you got other options. How about chatting to someone at work about giving you a lift.

nah the cop said i was doin 107 in a 60..but the slowest speed limit is 70 down pt wakefield. it was just at the churchill rd intersection..no road works...

im not sayin the cop purposely made up a speed, but clearly he didnt know how to use the equipment properly...

if i was speeding i would of admitted it..

wow, never thought of any of the above. :)

the concept of changing jobs is unrealistic coz im building a house and my job offers job security. cant move coz the house isnt completed and even then i cant sell it until 6months after handover. everyone at my work lives near work..which is half hr drive...so no matter how nice ppl are they arent gunna drive past work, half hour backwards, just to drop me at work.

ok well ive found a lift to work on some of the days...good old missus...problem is she will be driving my car..:)

now coz ive lost my license does that mean the vehicle wont be covered under insurance regardless of the driver...

as in, if she crashed in my car, would she be covered? or should i transfer insurance to her name?
