my mate has been cought doing many things while already has lost his licence. he got really lucky that the judge knew he had some sort of future so suspended him for 5 years. if he was find even sitting in a drivers seat (even without the keys) he was going to jail.

he got it into his head after MANY times in court and fines, solicter fee's and lossing his licence for quite a few years and got one of his work mates to pick him up to go to work.

why not split the costs of petty with a work mate to take you to work. this will be cheaper for you in the long run and even if you had a licence this would still be cheaper in running costs.

with what i know what could happen to you, dont drive without a licence.

YOU SAY:

i cant appeal coz ive lost my license before (for actions on my behalf), and appealed for it back and got it.<

Who told you that you can't appeal? Even without reading the ACT legislation I can say with 99.999% certainty no State or Territory disqualifies an appeal action just because another unrelated prosecution was overturned on appeal. Every civil or criminal matter is dealt with as a NEW matter, prev history only kicks in for sentencing determination.

GET YOURSELF SOME PROPER LEGAL ADVICE - pronto

once you have lost your licence while on your P plate restrictions and have appealed it once before to get 1 point back (and this can go for full licenced too, i'll have to look into it) you are NOT permitted to appeal for another point again, unless quite a few years has past since your last appeal (i cant remember the exact number of years but ill find out).

he has all rights to fight the conviction which he has done but he can not appeal for his licence back once he has done it already after a certain period of time has past.

as a p plater ur only entitled to one appeal every 5 years.

so it doesnt matter how many times i keep taking it court the outcome will be the same.

Some people get lucky.

My good mate lost his license for a year - drove for that whole year, got pulled over and caught 3 times but just received fines/warnings. No going to court, nothing.

That might be true, but what if he had hit another car, crippling the driver?

3rd party bodily injury wouldn't have paid out and your mate would've been royally f**ked up.

Just because someone gets away with something doesnt make it a good idea. If someone gets away with murder, does this make it ok for everyone? I don't think so.

it all depends on how much you wanna risk it?

i personally wouldnt drive with no licence, you're asking for trouble.

i had an ex who would drive unlicensed, i dont know if she ever got caught? but it would've been big trouble because she lost her licence when she was driving on her own on her L plates.

the situation sucks, but it could suck way worse than it already does?

if you were that unlucky to loose your licence like you said, i wouldnt push your luck any further by driving with no licence.

Spot on there Hotwire....if you end up crippling someone for life mate you....then you truely will be in the worse situation....dont risk it as many people have mentioned before, not worth it.....

I had a mate who thought the same thoughts that your having atm....drive disqualified in a Barina and he will get away with it.....well all it takes is a lapse in judgement and it has now cost him a shitloads then he though....he was involved in a smash and pretty much wrote off someones newish commy....so he had to pay up for a brand new car....$30k is still 30k at the end of the day.....

but you CAN fight a charge, claiming the offence to be incorrect.

every 5 years, you can lose your license, accept the fact, then apply to have your license back.

different scenarios

isnt this what i already said

Given the recent events and bad image import drivers had already ... it would be stupid, stupid, stupid to drive without a licence. Sorry, can't put any sugar on that one. Don't do it. At the very least, if you don't get caught and have no prangs, you'll still be a loser imo.

LOL at this thread, sif cops don't troll these boards.

Even if you don't get picked out by a cop whilst unlicenced and behind the wheel, you'd better pray you don't as much lay a scratch on a 3rd party whilst driving cause you'll get a visit from a CTP Investigator who'll turn over his findings to cops........you won't be the 1st risk taker that I've seen do time and you can expect to lose your job, house and future earning capacity with a record against your name.

Get smart and move into a cheap flat near work!!

60kmh limit on pt wakefield road? and you got done for 107kmh right hmm

perhaps it was when there was roadworks around? i know they still have some areas 60kmh speed limit...

other than that it go from like 80kmh/90kmh, then further down 110kmh, it's a big f**king road

As stated elsewhere in this fred, get a pushbike, leave heaps early, deal with it and move on. And no, I dont care that you live 30 minutes drive from work, thats still push bike-able.

on that note, pretty sure as a P-plater it is a breach of P's to go over 100kmh by any amount, not that I care or know if who ever posted that initially is a P plater.
