Before you buy the factory Nissan pistons. Check the price on forged aftermarket pistons. Factory pistons are not a great deal cheaper and buy the sounds of things (You have a cracked piston or two) you perhaps should look at forged. you can get ARIAS pistons in standard bor AP331182, 40 thou over AP331181 and 20Thou over AP331180

Forged pistons are simply more durable (Stronger) than a standard piston. Changing the pistons to a forged type does not increase power as a stand-alone upgrade

Forged pistons are less likely to break if the engine is badly

Forged pistons in a well tuned car will also handle more combustion force (More power potential).

The fact that you have dead factory pistons at the moment possibly means that you have had something go wrong in the past (incorrect ignition timing, bad fuel or lack of fuel (AFR incorrect).

Forged pistons may not have saved the day but they may have prolonged the engines life before it lunched its self, depending on how bad the problem was. The fact that they are about $1,200 for the set inc rings, and pins (ARIAS) it’s a logical choice in my book.

.....will restrict reving, and i will need to have my engine re-balanced correct?

= big money.....if i only want a daily driver i though s15 pistons would be a cheaper alternative. And it ticked ever since i got it from japan, turns out yes the engine was cooked and one piston couldn't expand anymore so it got a mil or 2 longer, making it tick everytime the piston went up and tapped the bore.

The pistons are already ballanced but you may wish to recheck them when you get them. The engine will not have to be modified to take the pistons except for the bore. If the bore is damaged you will need to take it out 20 thou. and buy the 20thou over sized pistons.

The national distributor is Rocket industries in NSW. You can get them retail from any Autobarn Store on a customer special order basis. use the numbers that I specified. good luck!
