I was keen, until a certain manual conversion popped up... looks like ill be busy with that so probably wont make it out this month.

luke, you end up getting your wheel fixed form last prac?

At this stage i'll be doing the Modern Reg', although i'm only 85% as i have an exam on the 30th and one on the 1st. There are a few things that i have to do on my car so if i get a chance to spend a day on the car while studying for the exams then i'll be out there. After all i'm leading the Champ' at the moment, can't let that slip away.

If your looking at setting some good times i would suggest doing the modern reg as you there are two groups and the grids are staged so there is a quicker car in front and a slower car behind so most of the time you get an uninterupted run, where as with the track day's....well you saw the video's. If you are a member of a CAMS affiliated club and CAMS then it's only $115

Do you need a Level 2S license for Modern Regularity, or can you get a 1day license for the event (and will it still be $25) ?

Yep you need a L2S (Speed) licence for modern reg and most other CAMS events, the $25 day licence is the L2NS (No Speed) licence. You can still get a day licence for the L2S but it's $45; the good thing it that that $45 comes of your full L2S licence if you pay the other $45 within a month (the full L2S licence is $90).

If you seriuos about cutting some quick laps then events like modern reg and super sprints if you have a quick car are the only way to go. General track days are alright for learning your vechiele and learning to drive fast using correct lines but there are too many moving obstruction if your serious about track time.

Nah not fixed but this should be the last one till i get some other wheels for it. Not sure if i'll do modern reg now or not. hmm

im goin to come for a look

if anyone needs a tow let me know

I might take you up on that offer, I'm gonna try head out to the Modern Reg if anyone else is going, timed laps FTW!! or i'll just go prac day.

Would you get more track time at modern reg or the practice day before?

You get about the same amount of track time at both, I prefer the mod reg as your timed and get a print out of everyone's times after each session. You also get put out on the track in order of the times set in the first practice session. Last time i went out i was doing about 5 laps a session (I think thats how many laps per session) and never court up to the person in front and never got overtaken. So much better than a track day :) You cant just rock up on the day though, entries must be in by a certain time before the event.

Hopefully if I get these Nismo braided lines on (and brake system bleed and replaced with rbf600), front brake air deflectors put on, ruzic engineering 4wd controller wired up and trans fluid switched to redline lightweight shockproof. If I get all this done, I'll definitely be there for Modern Reg.

Reckon im gonna just do the praccy and also head out to watch the modern comp. Depends if my gearbox holds, as it is crunching 3-4th at high rpm :)

Mine does the exact same crunch changing from 3rd to 4th at peakpower, delay the shift for a second longer and mine doesn't crunch.

ill proba head out to which ever is cranking the most out of sau boys... not entering in any events at this stage due to financial issues but got the whole weekend off

mine does the same. either delay the shift, or double clutch. problem solved without having to buy a new box.

    • Good point, I think you can get black ceramic coating as well, so that could be two birds with one stone
    • If I was you I would fix them up, as far as I know the 400R bumper is unobtainable now, the rear bumper and side skirts cost a fortune. The look of the car with that body kit on is awesome! Subtle but aggressive looking, how long have you owned her and done much in the way of modifications?
    • More so heat management so you don't melt stuff around the turbo, especially if you decide to hit the track.
    • What's the difference in wrapping it in this stuff in relation to overheating the 304L stainless dump material and having it cracking at the welds from overheating the material? It would well on my exhaust manifold as it is some fancy pants cast material, but, I've used similar stuff before and it is problematic to get it looking neat as you need to fix it with "all" of the SS ties The stick on stuff is just for the firewall and OEM heat sheild I believe that, as I am only going to be running low boost and not pushing the turbo too hard (hence asking about the differences between a 0.64 and 0.82) extreme heat in the dump shouldn't really be a issue I am happy to talk metallurgy about a 304L material and what makes it crack
    • Nice. Straight and dent free is what you want. The rest is easier to clean up.
