i actually prefer the B spec to some of the rally events. just wish my drivers would realise that if they are in a lambo LP640 and the car in front is a little hatch back and they are faster than it, that by using the big round thing on the dash in front of them they can go around the car in front.

i hear that!!

the b-spec drivers really do borderline on mental retardation when it comes to overtaking slow cars. and what pisses me off is that your opponents never have the same issues! in the "like the wind" race at indianapolis i use the 787B and it dominates by a long shot, but theres always the gillet vertigo race car that you lap 2 or 3 times before the finish, the 787B could almost drive circles around it, but instead the b-spec driver decides to hang off his tail for half a lap then wait until the next big straight, often letting your opponents catch right up to you. and they dont use the slipstream off the car in front well at all. they'll be in the slip stream, pull out to overtake, brake, then continue to try accelerate past, wtf is that!! they should never take their foot off the gas!

and i cant think of one good car that came out in 1987.. so looks like my "bday present" is a write off..

YOU BASTARD! where the hell do you order one of those?? i got told by EB they aint coming to nz but im keen to order from overseas if i have to

wait.. i heard a horrible rumour they weren't wireless, which now i remember that was why i stopped looking for one.

so is it wireless or not?? thats a deal breaker for me if it isnt

Edited by jonboy

Its not wireless but the cord is quite long. Doesnt bother me as I sit pretty much next to the PS3 anyway or sometimes sit on the bed. I prefer the cord actually - saves charging - I got a wired keyboard and mouse.

So far so good, feels different to using the triggers its weird I got my fingers ready to press the trigger to accel/brake but I dont use it! Accel/brake feels great being able to "heel and toe" using the thumb lol steering response is so much better than the joystick on the DS3.

I think I need to get me hands on GRID again to try out the drifting on that with this controller.

EDIT: its USB

basically, chumps.

its basic psychological marketing.

target market = young boyracers/gamers/import car enthusiasts. all these types know HKS, and know HKS = awesome.

therefore slap the HKS name on a product = instant mass appeal to said market = mass sales.

you comprehend yes?

and has anyone won the final nascar race at daytona in a-spec? i get pit maneuvered and spun around every time lol. on the odd occasion i do get out in front, i lose too much speed on the corners because i cant keep the car steady with the standard controller and just get owned anyway lol

    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
