bubba
Is anyone buying a PS3 just for this game? I am wondering if I should just go buy a unit now or wait for some GT5+Console bundle.. I bought a PS3 just for this game, but that was a few years ago Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5337703 Share on other sites

seattle_circuit
I bought a PS3 just for this game, but that was a few years ago I'm glad this game only came up on my radar recently (despite being a diehard GT fan). Painful to see people posting way back in 2008 as if the game was just months away. seattle_circuit
Question.. I haven't played GT5 Prologue but a friend (a GT veteran) says that playing in 'professional' mode with the controller is very hard. Apparently it's like there is little or no self-centering so it's difficult to control. Anyone experienced this? Maybe it's designed for use with a wheel, not a controller. Dark26
Question.. I haven't played GT5 Prologue but a friend (a GT veteran) says that playing in 'professional' mode with the controller is very hard. Apparently it's like there is little or no self-centering so it's difficult to control.Anyone experienced this? Maybe it's designed for use with a wheel, not a controller. I've played GT5P at my cousin's house with his G25 and got really used to it on professional physics (I don't have a PS3 so i've only played a few times). I was there again last week and we couldn't be bothered setting up the G25 so we just used the regular controller. I adjusted to it very quickly even with professional physics on and could make adjustments to my line etc etc (of course with a G25 you could make more slight adjustments) whenever i wanted. I even played online and had some very interesting races where your skill was needed through the corners and not just drafting off the person infront of you on the straight to overtake. In other words, i found the controller to be fine on professional physics but i was using a R35 and not a high powered rwd (also used an integra too). s13-steve
how can they not have included such a basic hoon need as skid marks? its 2010 games have been doing this for 10 yearls already Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5347579 Share on other sites
mad082
the original need for speed had it, and it came out back in 1994 but honestly i don't care about skid marks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5347640 Share on other sites
bozodos
I think it has something to do with the GT series trying to be a 'simulator', which IIRC is why they don't have destructible cars, you can't flip them etc Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5347823 Share on other sites
Marco-R34GTT
But cars can be flipped! Just ask Mark Webber lol! Twice in an LM Mercedes CLK-GTR that thought it was a part of the German Luftwaffe and once in his trusty Red Bull RB6 that gave him wings! seattle_circuit
The latest trailers do seem to show cars flipping... But my feeling is that its a race simulator, not a crash simulator. It is gonna be fun seeing the result of bumping panels during a race but I don't think full on crash damage, loss of panels etc really adds much to the game IMO. You shouldn't be busting up these lovely cars anyway Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5349102 Share on other sites
mad082
yeah in GT5 you can roll cars. they are supposed to be a bit more realistic in their crashing. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5349193 Share on other sites
DivHunter
You have to have damage or online is just dodgem cars. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274780-gt5-is-ready/page/17/#findComment-5349404 Share on other sites

typevu
You have to have damage or online is just dodgem cars. But if you have damage online just ends up being a Destruction Derby type of race... happened on Forza 2.
