I had this happen on one race - reset the ps3 and it went in ok the next time.

anyone else here actually going thru the second hand car lot and buying all the cool old cars from GT4 (and a few new ones)??? or is it just me? its the main part of the game to me, collecting, building and thrashing every car i can get my hands on!!! yee har..

sry.......too much GT is making me a little crazy

is it just me or do the standard cars look out of place on the awesome high-def circuits. because the standard cars are just up-scaled versions of the gt4 car and look terrible when put on a stunning looking track/background lol. i've only really been using premium cars.

i disagree, they still look OK...sure they arent as pretty but i can live with that......mmmm Buick '62 special (im here for the drive)

^^^lol, just got the exact same manroo myself

game feels really underdone...rather annoying!

up to level 11 only and already feeling as if something's missing from it relative to the old GT's.

400R and R390 came up for sale and not enough credits to buy :(

have seen a couple of stageas and a bunch of other cars for sale that I would like but either wasn't high enough level or enough credits to get it. Ah well, it'll be back later :)

just been building up the R34 v2 n1 as my track weapon of choice...will use that and evo 6.5 and rx7 as my cars to use. Need a FF car...motul civic is always a good one, but I recall in GT4 my FTO was pretty special.

no idea why but I love the whole photo taking thing (probably cuz sometimes I cant be fkd setting up the wheel)...

finally picked a premium car and did the photomode thingy... Being able to zoom in closer is sweet... why couldn't they do a HSV premium car

^^^^^^^^^^^yeh some of those photos are amazing , my bro was mucking around with the photo things the other day aswell..

BTW the GT rally is a joke in terms of difficulty, its sooooooo easy........ the only rally event i cant win is the gravel event in seb loeb challenge but everything else i win by at least 5 sec s as well as maybe spinning out on the way.

got a cool 1.5 mil  a nascar, Veyron, 458Italia , Murcie LP670 SV and GTR... all fully worked as well as another 50 cars.

got another YLOD last night. ffs. this is the 3rd time. has anyone managed to fix it so that it doesnt happen again? the first time i fixed it, lasted 2 weeks, 2nd time, 3-4 months. maybe just luck of the draw?

Never had it happen to me (touch wood!... fk this is shitty MDF!)

Jon, what cooling do you use for your PS3?

I just sit a pedestal fan in front of it and angle it to the lower front of the console (40GB version).

Doesn't even turn it's thermal fan on (sits in a poorly ventilated tv cabinet).

i have my tv, etc on top of a chest of drawers so it's not enclosed at all. i also have a clothes peg under each corner of it as well so it is lifted off the surface. it runs dead silent, other than a bit of a click/crack every now and then when it's just been turned on or off. it's a 250gb console.

also came across this last night

also with the latest v1.03 update it appears as though you can set mechanical damage for online races. i downloaded it last night but don't play online so i haven't seen anything different.

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
